Can we please get some major gameplay bugs fixed?

Every time I find myself looking forward to getting back in the game, I wind up quitting in frustration, usually because of tripping over bugs (the second reason is odd gameplay decisions, but that is a discussion for another thread).

The following bugs occurred in my last two play sessions (just now):

1) My Keelback got interdicted. I defeated the pirate and set about scooping up the mats/escape pods only to discover that the Keelback cargo scoop reticle is misaligned after an interdiction, making the scooping of cargo a challenging affair. I had reported this bug after U13 and it is still here.
2) I make it back to station and get fined for smuggling weapons. I land at the station, go into administrative contacts and discover that I can't pay the fine because no fine is recorded. I leave my ship and go to the concourse to complete a mission and see if maybe I can payoff the fine there. Nope. I relog back to the concourse and can now pay off the fine. I enter the lift, go back to my ship...and discover the fine is still listed. I need to relog AGAIN for the game to realize I had paid the fine off in the concourse. Two relogs just to pay a fine. I believe this bug has been around since U12.
3) I have two escape pods in my cargo bay from the interdiction that I need to turn in to S&R. I go into the menu and offload the working escape pod but discover that the damaged escape pod menu won't allow me to offload my damaged pod (the offload arrow is non-responsive). I exit out of the S&R menu and go back in and still can't offload the pod. I don't recall if I exited out of the station menu completely or I needed to relog but I had to do one of the two for the menu to work properly.
4) I am at a surface settlement shooting bad guys with my SRV cannon only to discover the tracers are missing.

This is just sad, frankly. This is a beta level of quality at best. It is because of stuff like this that whenever I start playing the game I end up fleeing to another space game instead. Those other games might not provide the gameplay I seek as well as Elite does but at least those games have developers that clearly take pride in overall quality and polish.

The blue crescent shapes surrounding a planet that show if you can land on a planet or not. They have the marker attached if it has human settlements on it too. You can see that in VR, they are all the same size, so large planets, it is inside the planet, like Achenar 3 in the image in the OP
Same thing with the atmosphere marker, by the way.

Safest to mention this, because it wouldn't be the first time we've seen one specific thing fixed, but not the identical instance of the very same thing right next to it... :7

…and a bonus one that annoys me in VR - the old view glitch bug that occurs when jumping to SuperCruise came back to us in June last year. FDev fixed it quicker last time!
Wow, you are concerned about shadow issues in VR? Personally, I am more concerned that I cannot read the chat at all really in VR... :/

That’s because flickering/flashing shadows affect my game throughout my playtime and are not pleasant to experience in the headset, while disappearing chat doesn’t affect me (although I confirmed the issue as it was easy to duplicate) because a) I use the press-to-open function which doesn’t cause the problem and b) I don’t use chat as I’m an unsociable type 😁

Glad the issue report has finally reached voting stage and I hope it gets fixed for you soon 👍

That is super odd, will try to confirm that myself the next time I play and get that pushed up, because that should be higher on the list too.

Of the four windows that can be triggered by looking at them, Nav Panel, Functions Panel, Lap screen, and Chat, I have never used the look at for the chat screen since I started playing in 2014. I have always had a button to toggle focus and leave it, and it has always worked.
 
Latest great bug, AX CZ can't work correctly, this basically feeds weird decision of weekly dropping not cleared systems back to zero progress. Are you really want us to fight for the humanity, frontiers? Because if we ever want to, we facing some issues dropping our efforts to trash.

Interesting. I already wondered why there were not way more people reporting this. I used to do this as well sometimes.

However, currently in VR even pressing 2 is not that much of a workaround as it used to be. When pressing 2 and trying to switch to local or system chat (since it got wiped) it starts spamming (https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/56148). At the very least in Thargoid areas with AX AI around. That is definitely some new additional issue. Happens in both normal and VR.

Missionboard and Passengerlounge loading and then jump back to stationservice menue. I can not complete missions so. Is this a known bug? Workaround?

You will not get a Terrarium from Fdev if you're overly critical, you could ask Astro for a lend of his though ;)
I did get one, but it seems most that live outside the UK's were broken because it likley got thrown around during shipping, I asked them not to try to send another, it would have been broken again.

One of the things that was so frustrating about this, is I used to have a direct communication line on Discord to a FDev, and I was able to submit these major bugs that were not only specific for VR, but others, and we were seeing get fixed, but then one day, just stopped getting a response back.

Anyone coming into the stream with something like the above we would confirm live, and then either add to an existing report, or make a new one if it did not exist and send it up the chain
 
What I am afraid of is the "fix" is to make the thrusters operate at 200% for the docking computer, but root cause is still broken, so Band-Aid on one thing, but issue is still there for everything else, high gravity worlds, AX, PVP combat, etc.
I need to revise my previous assessment; really not been worked, at all. Any incoming traffic sends Cutter into spasmed response and most often slams it into bulkhead under or off to the side of the slot. Had to turn auto launch off with CG open traffic as it was causing those behind me problems when I would counter with an override. As has been said by other - 3.8 EDH continues to work fine, so FDev knows what is wrong and how to fix it. Just plain sad. Still love the game and have my work arounds so I'll wait it out.
 
I think No 1 for me is the horrendous Aliasing, Supersampling helps somewhat, but degrades overall performance.

It’s long been time the shimmering & bugged Anti-Aliasing gets a fix.
This should be talked about everytime a new patch comes out. If anything its getting worst. supersampling is the only thing that seems to do anything for the AA. Ive never ever noticed in any other game. I dont know how some players can cope with it.
 
Need some help here I get rescue missions from wrecks, and after I found the wreck going down and search for the requested things, the container constantly haven’t the item I needed for the mission, on the map marker is blue all fine but the searched item isn’t there just other things

Try going back into SC and then dropping back into the Wreck instance and have another look, it usually spawns in the container second time around.

I get and have had this bug frequently.

Thx, so I leave this missions, I have this bug often too, like the other bug where the container is unter the wreck.

Fdev fix this !!!!!!


Or make it to an feature, dismissed the blue marker for the planet and the wreck and then there you have your search missions. It’s not a bug it’s a feature 😒


Ps: the only stuff which is funny though, but bugged too the maximum. Sad didn’t expected this
