Every time I find myself looking forward to getting back in the game, I wind up quitting in frustration, usually because of tripping over bugs (the second reason is odd gameplay decisions, but that is a discussion for another thread).
The following bugs occurred in my last two play sessions (just now):
1) My Keelback got interdicted. I defeated the pirate and set about scooping up the mats/escape pods only to discover that the Keelback cargo scoop reticle is misaligned after an interdiction, making the scooping of cargo a challenging affair. I had reported this bug after U13 and it is still here.
2) I make it back to station and get fined for smuggling weapons. I land at the station, go into administrative contacts and discover that I can't pay the fine because no fine is recorded. I leave my ship and go to the concourse to complete a mission and see if maybe I can payoff the fine there. Nope. I relog back to the concourse and can now pay off the fine. I enter the lift, go back to my ship...and discover the fine is still listed. I need to relog AGAIN for the game to realize I had paid the fine off in the concourse. Two relogs just to pay a fine. I believe this bug has been around since U12.
3) I have two escape pods in my cargo bay from the interdiction that I need to turn in to S&R. I go into the menu and offload the working escape pod but discover that the damaged escape pod menu won't allow me to offload my damaged pod (the offload arrow is non-responsive). I exit out of the S&R menu and go back in and still can't offload the pod. I don't recall if I exited out of the station menu completely or I needed to relog but I had to do one of the two for the menu to work properly.
4) I am at a surface settlement shooting bad guys with my SRV cannon only to discover the tracers are missing.
This is just sad, frankly. This is a beta level of quality at best. It is because of stuff like this that whenever I start playing the game I end up fleeing to another space game instead. Those other games might not provide the gameplay I seek as well as Elite does but at least those games have developers that clearly take pride in overall quality and polish.
