Cockpit Dome Lights off switch (not the HUD)

Hi FD,
Please let us turn off the background lights in the cockpits of our ships. Not the HUD (though a dimmer option would be nice) and not the gamma adjustment. I'm referring to the cabin lights.

Let me be clear, I'm not asking for these lights to go away, I just want to turn them off.

For a great example of what I'm talking about, look at the Asp cockpit. There are left and right "A pillar" lights, a large bar type overhead light, and left and right upper support strut lights, as well as numerous floor lights, that are always on. I know this is a trivial detail for most players, but there are a small number of us that would like to turn these lights off so we can have a completely dark cabin/cockpit.

I know you can do it, you turn them off when the Thargoids do their ship disabling thing, please give us the option to turn them off for ourselves!

please...

I'd love to have this, and more stuff like it. The first time I found out you could reboot the system, I did it over and over again for the fun of it.

This would be great for the bigger ships like the beluga so you could get a nice shadowy atmosphere like in my dimly lit Adder

Yes please - those AspX lights give me eyestrain so I have to dial down the FOV to get them off the screen. If we could switch them off I'd be able to buy an ultrawide monitor! :)

+1. Vulutre Canopy lights as well please the two bright canopy lights steal the focus of the two information panels and they obscure text, the lights also distract from the beautiful scenery, I want to see stars not two bright blobs of light when I look around. Very annoying during combat as well. it's 3033 and engineers haven't figured out a way of providing a clean, minimalist, unobstructed view to its pilots, FD must be populated with Soviet era design bureau individuals.

I think that this is the 3rd time that this topic has appeared, to no avail though.

Funny how people like to run-down things like that - just shows the effectiveness of the propaganda pushed out by the capitalist West. ;)

We need an external lights on indicator, and a cabin lights on/off toggle switch. the lighting in some cockpits are two bright.

Your in space, dark paint.. hidden away... oh look, you sitting on a lit up stage ....

the off option should dim the light levels right down.

As you said when the Thargoids go passed all lights turn off due to being disabled, I'm guessing as the ability to do this is already ingame it wouldn't really take a lot of effort on the devs part to simply add an "OFF" switch for all lights on and inside the ship.

Hear here! I am in total agreement concerning the Vulture's lights. Every ship's cockpit, while beautiful, should have the option to completely turn off the lights. I want to have a dark bridge on the Anaconda. But I'm also thinking about when we have access to the entire ship, I really want to be able to kill the lights anywhere I am in my ship.

As for the number of times we post on this topic, I believe persistence will win the day. Eventually they'll notice a fair number of us would like the option for a dark cockpit and they'll give it to us.

I want the option to have them match my pink lasers. It is clear this game was coded by men. Hmpf. No fashion sense.

I'd also like the option to change the colors of the lights, though that may be asking too much. It'd be nice to have battle stations red for the Anaconda bridge. Though, if memory serves, the main cockpit artist is actually a woman…

You've misplaced my point completely, I'm not referring to the reliability of RUSSIAN rocketry, It's a known fact that RUSSIAN rocket engine design is more advanced than the West's specifically the closed cycle rocket engines.
My point is the aesthetics, think of it like this, put a seamless/strutless F-16 canopy on a MIG-25, or a Strutless F-15 Canopy on a SU-27, its only recently that RUSSIAN fighter canopy design has gone strutless and seamless just like the West, so they've finally caught up to the capitalist's.
My further point is that surely in the year 3033 they're capable of strutless seamless canopies, also If all CURRENT aircraft manufacturers know the basics of cockpit lighting why is it that pilot ergonomics/comfort/annoyances has gone backwards in the future ?, oh wait UAV's rule in 2030, no need for cockpit lighting or canopies, perhaps that's why future space vehicle Canpoy design is managed by the Soviet era Design Bureau in FD.
