I don't play for the "risk" or the "challenge". I play to relax after a long day's work and enjoy spaceflight with like-minded space nerds, and slaughter large numbers of hapless wanted NPCs. It's irritating that a tiny subset of the player base has to repeatedly attempt to ruin it for the majority.
I get that some people want things to be more difficult because they don't get enough challenge at work or school, but frankly I like winning, even if it's laughably easy. I don't like sweating every time a hollow blip on the radar makes a beeline for me in supercruise. That's not fun. That's stress. Sure, I'm not really in danger in my bigger or faster ships, unless it's a kill-squad, but I'd rather avoid the risk altogether. Plus, I get absolutely nothing out of fighting another player. All stress and hassle and no real fun.
Solo really isn't an option for me since it feels dead without other folks there. It's nice just to see another non-hostile player out there, even if only to exchange a simple o7. Sure, I play in Mobius PvE, but the player density is so low it may as well be solo. So my only option is to play in Open and get jumpy every time someone flying something dangerous comes within interdiction range.
