I disagree. If they wanted feedback from active members they would have called in people like Truesilver and explorers from Canon. They invited youtubers, which means this was some sort of marketing exercise.

I disagree. If they wanted feedback from active members they would have called in people like Truesilver and explorers from Canon. They invited youtubers, which means this was some sort of marketing exercise.
I heard at least 3 times :
"Many hard questions were asked and we got answers"
But when I asked the streamers what those hard questions and reassuring answers were no-one would/could say, I presume due to NDA.
So I don't know, all the streamers I've seen talk very positively about what they saw which boads well.
But on the other hand, no doubt "normal" people will feel very flattered getting to look round Frontier's officers, and with all the attention they received that day (and from reports it was very significant), it would be hard for them not to feel positive about it all wouldn't it, leaving the office on a high with a huge grin.
So again for me it's just a case of wait and see, I'm going to take the reports here with a pinch of salt until I can have a look for myself.
I will say one thing, what does bother me a bit is that all the streamers have been almost TOO positive, I've seen nothing at all critical.
Maybe Q4 will indeed be the amazing patch it's being made out to be, we will see I spose.
The most obviously objective thing I think I heard was OA trying to warn other streamers on the round table not to overhype it, because at the end of the day different people want different things, and not everyone will be happy with all the changes, it's just the way it is.

I agree. It was a marketing excersize. But one that doesn't make much sense. What's the point of having influencers come in, show them around and then not allow them to talk about what they have seen.
If they want that to work, then they need stop with the silly NDAs as they don't help and just get everyone frustrated. If they didn't want anyone to know about It, don't invite anyone from the public in.
Last time I checked from all big YouTubers only two were invited, and Alec and Stuart aren't YouTubers.
Sure, some explorers might be salty for not getting an invite, but they don't have infinite resources.
no, i didn't say that. some of these changes might have been on the drawing/prototyping board for a while. e.g. mining, etc. doesn't mean they can't have been hanging there for months.

Surely if the stuff is that great, FDev should be showing us ALL?? I mean a few screen shots to whet the appetite?

what the monkey should i know, viajero? i don't live there. what i know is that their results and attention through the year has been dismal. that they had discrete goals and even so had to cancel part of them. that they announced feedback sessions that didn't happen. even the usual livestreams/happenings that usually just involve 'community management' people didn't happen either.
i'm not moving goalposts but you are starting to come across as really obtuse. since i know you aren't, i assume you just don't want to acknowledge all this and are just nagging around

So basically you don't know nothing but yet you claim your explanation is only possible one? And it might not be things FD reportedly said - that things changed due of unforeseen consequences of Q4 development? As developer you should know that it is most likely scenario - planning tends to be overoptimistic very, very frequently.

Apparently they invited them over to also take some feedback from them as players. While at this point Frontier has completely lost my trust, the same is not happening with the players and i personally value THEIR opinion. Whether Frontier takes that feedback seriously and for once they do the neccessary changes, or it was for once more a simple hype/pr event, that we will have to see in the near future.
The players that were invited, i think now have the responsibillity to inform us after the Q4 release, IF what was released is a bit different here and there from what they saw, and if the changes trully came from the feedback of this event.
Well at least that would be my No1 priority (to monitor afterwards), in order to honor that invitation, but towards the playerbase and not the company. For me, those people invited are OUR representatives and it would be nice if they cover us in every aspect, not only in pre-hype/release period.
Again thanks to all the players that went and voiced our concerns and suggestions to make this game better.
