It turns out that editing the OP is a bit of a hassle as with some editing the windows scrolls and I've to re scroll again. Hence I'm going to add new entries directky here and when ready they are copied to the OP. Hence if you read this message this post is in flux. When the post is ready I remove this message and you will see "Added to the OP". When doing rapid entries I can be bitten by the automerge feature so you see two post merged. Will be corrected later. Please this in mind when reading new posts of mine.

My guide to supercruise perhaps?

CaptainKremmen already has a good one there, but humble as I am, I feel mine's more detailed and explanatory for new users.

I MUST start paying more attention to the gems hidden in the signatures ;-) I will of course add yours - put on the TODO list for now. Like I wrote in the 'rules of engagement' on the OP, each and every tool/info posted here will be added. Its NOT my task to discriminate/judge. Should I find something not useful it for sure could/will be useful for someone else. CaptainKremmen's guide was already on my TODO list, but thanks for reminding me. It can however take a while before everything on the TODO list will be transfered to the OP. It takes a LOT of time (for me) to do so.

Edit: Sunday 4th of January. Added to the OP section "Manuals, wiki's and other useful information"

I'm going to take a break till most likely Monday. I've been working on the OP constantly since last Thursday and its wearing me out. Other projects need some attention as well. In particular EDDN. Not to mention that I haven't played ED at all last/this week. Its taking much more time then I anticipated. Also RL make sure I will be away 2 days - have no smartphone and where I go there is no Internet.

What I'm gonna do today is finish Maddavo's post, its post #81. He TOTALLY deserves that. He should have been there much earlier, my bad. For all Trade Dangerous users its a VERY useful tool. It merges your own .prices file with the one on his website. You (and others) upload your .prices file to the website and your receive a merged one back. VERY useful.

I will also try to dump my TODO list here in this post (later on) so it doesn't get lost. When I make a separate post for and put it on the OP I will delete it here.

TODO list - Unless It states FINISHED during the day links will be added.

  1. Supercruise guide by Fangrim. Url/info link
  2. Supercruise guide by CaptainKremmen. Url/info link

Edit: Sunday the 4th of January 2015. Added (1). (2) was already on the OP ;-)

Friday 20150424: Tool is in the WIP tool codenamed ED3PTT (see OP).

+ Kudos CMDR well done.

So now you can use Slopey's Trading Tool, cos at one point it was banned from Frontier for scrapping data from the game.?

Yes you can use Slopey's tool or the other two without problem. The are now based on manual input. Acttally when the data access policy changed the BPC was NOT scraping the market. It was marketdump by Andreas. MD uploaded its data to EMDN and the BPC but also Trade Dangerous were using that data. Imho FD should have ONLY told Andreas to stop with EMDN. No EMDN, no data for the tools. Andreas always stated should FD ask/tell him to stop he would. But FD went after the BPC, TD and others tools using data and unless they were NOT using EMDN they were told to stop OR at least remove EMDN support in the next version. Now that OCR solutions are being made with <99.9 and one with 0.99814 accuracy things look bright. Importers for the trading tools can/are written. My hope is that EDDN will be live soon(ish) and that all trading tools can/will use it. TD is in, Thrudd is in, Slopey said he would probably use it. Also maddavo who created a merge tool for TD said he is in. Things left is to get that pesky EDDN live. jamesremuscat who is coding it has severe RL issues and I haven't been able to fully test it. EDDN is running but it has not been made publicly available at this point.

I've compiled a list of Ships currently in Gamma 2.0 and their specifications, I hope to continue to update it as ships and data are discovered.

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=73571

Cool it will be added at the bottom of my TODO list and it WILL find it way to the OP. It can take a while because there are I believe already 8+ entries still on the list. Updating the OP is rather time consuming, to say the least. Thanks for reporting AND the fact you took the time to collect all that info. Very much appreciated.

Sunday 4th of January. Added to the OP, section: "section "Manuals and useful information"

Hi Commanders!

I just let you know I published my edtool site. That is still in beta but some features is working now like path finder or ship database. I will create several features including tracking commodities and market prices, price charts, trading route or ship database. I planning to be able to upload market data from stations in CSV format. If you have any comments about the site, do not hesitate to write to me. I hope you enjoy your time there and a lot of success and fun adventure in game.

After a small break I'm back. I've updated the OP with a TODO section. Every entry I have and those reported by commanders will be put there. This makes it hopefully easier to keep track of reported entries. I will update the various posts to state they are in the TODO list now. When I have time I will move the entries from the TODO list to the correct section of the OP and in the correct format. This WILL take a while - given previous experiences... New entries are put at the end of the TODO list. Adding entries to the OP will probably be done in the order they appear on the TODO list.

I want to thank you all. I just crossed the first 100 positive reps boundary (103 reps now) which means I have two green blocks ;-) Max blocks is 10. I don't do it for the reps but I can't deny that each and every rep is welcomed with a smile on my face. I salut you commanders, in a humble way its very much appreciated.

Edit: All three reported entries by commanders are now on the TODO list. My own ones will follow shortly.

Thanks for the report and your tool. I've added it to the new TODO section of the OP. In due time it will get a proper formatted entry in the correct section.

Edit: Sunday the 4th of January. Added to the OP, section "Route planners"

I've done some work on the OP today. Not progressed as far as I hoped but I've collected all my entries and they are ready to go into the TODO section - for starters. Somehow the list is NOT getting smaller BUT bigger....

Also: Brilliant news. An alpha version of EDDN (see signature) has been released by jamesremuscat. Now that OCR-ing is viable and a phoenix EMDN is there it means we get our "precious" back, ie market prices. EDDN in principle is for ALL dynamic stuff. TGC is for static stuff. Iirc Slopey is considering adding EDDN in A future version of the BPC. Cmdr Thrudd is in, kfsone of TD is in, Maddavo (merge tool for TD .prices file) is in. It looks as if very exiting time are coming ;-)

Because of release 1.0.0.0 the forums were restructured and most if not all threads (in gamma discussion) were made read-only. PM-ed Bret C and he moved them for me. After that I could NOT do anything with my threads except edit the OP. Later that was also sorted out and I had a little extra. Thanks Bret!! I now have a few threads which need my attention. In particular the EDDN thread, EDDN Alpha has been released!!! So it looks likely I have to concentrate my free time on that one and that this has as a consequence that this thread will be less updated in the near future then I hoped. I hope you understand. Still, feeling a bit guilty

BUT when the crowd sourcing project, OCR-ing and EDDN takes off the way I hope it will be, we WILL in the near future have our precious back (prices and a good coordinates for route planners to boot). I want to humbly and sincerely thank all commanders who are making this possible. GREAT job commanders!!!

It may (or may not ;-) be worth mentioning that the reference to Slopey's BPC Marketing tool in the first post should be updated to point to version 4: forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=76081 (https removed to avoid the link spamming filter).
