I watched Yamiks and others' in the past so I know that already, and it's evident that your opinion correlate for one reason or another, but they would be wrong to suggest that the good things about Elite are lost in the forest or a distant memory, though it's not them saying it is it, that's you saying it.I'm pretty sure they have not always been negative about fdev or the game. Nor have they been entirely negative about various recent updates. It's just most of those points are just overcome with the things they consider bad and the good are lost in the forest or a distant memory.
I didn't say it was. I think you meant 'partiality' in your second use of the term. But it's also not their responsibility to be impartial. Nor does their impartiality cause the game to be worse than it is.
Have you not seen the posts with share prices etc.. posted seemingly with glee by some members, of course you have as there are some usual names that hit that like button when they're posted that also do the same for yours. You can blame FDev, and I will agree that FDev have blame, but there is, unfortunately, a reason why Public Relations and Marketing is an industry, and it's because opinions can be swayed towards the positive or negative and facts don't actually matter as much as image. Which is exactly why you see appeals to emotion and dismissal of fact based arguments in favor of narratives. So, in the sphere of influence that relates to Elite and those who would like to play spacegames, their opinions do matter and do have an effect. They're not really impacting masses of people who haven't directly experienced the game - they're not that well known. They're being watched by people who are directly experiencing the game...so it's not like they can motivate people to believe something they wouldn't otherwise believe.
Yes, reframe the situation to a more narrative suited reference. See above. This isn't like a political ad where you, as a common person have only your personal experience and you're relying on other people to give you insight in things you have no experience of or expertise in but need to care about like what is often in political ads and what not. This is like a book club where we're all reading the same book and there are some people who are not shy about talking about it - having mostly things that aren't nice to say about it as they read further and further in the story.
