Cryptic Elite Instagram/Twitter posts?

You mean like people would have to spend real money in order to be able to participate in this event?
That would be outright filthy imho.

That's what made it a "crazy thought" rather than a "Hey i have an idea!"

The argument could be made that you're given ARX for playing the game, so no real money would be required. Flimsy IMO, but an argument.

But morally (ethically? /shrug) questionable business practices aside - did anyone try it?!

Considering that the completely alien Thargoid sensors beam their scan of your ship back to Merope in human morse code I think that maybe sometimes a puzzle is just a puzzle.
<tinfoilhat>Or maybe they know Morse code because they were once human like us and were engineered to be our insect slaves, revolted, began a war with their creators (us) which is why they hate us so much. THAT is how they'd know Morse code! No other explanation is possible! THARGOIDS IS US!!!</tinfoilhat>
"Keep watching the stones". Maybe they're bringing out a patch to fix the PWA (Pulse Wave Analyser).
Or it was misread and it should read "Keep grinding the bones" to make their bread, etc. Are they giants?
…...Plus whatever it might hint at is probably not yet in game? but will be after the server downtime tomorrow?
I remember FD (or someone here) mention that the update on Thursday might be longer than usual. Could that mean...….?
Are we looking in the right area? What about the other similarly named place, the ball-sack nebula?
Sir, please correct your spelling - that's BALZAC. You're welcome.

And what kind of intelligent life form would try to communicate in ASCII with the message broken into pieces like this and in this odd order?
Thinking of breaking out my AspX and head out there...or should I bring my mining ship?

At 6450 arx a piece, yes a "crazy thought" indeed, imho.

The Guardians are still alive somewhere. Since they were here before us they most likely has seen and learned a lot of the human languages.Since they currently only have some primitive means of communications they need to divide the message into smaller data packages.

So far so good.

Probably it will be "Coalsack Nebula. The stones. He keeps watching the stones."
Here my researches (Please let me know If I misreport something!):

We don’t, but speculation is fun. I myself equated ‘stones’ with the guardian obelisks. Would be interesting if the guardians DID show up.

Guardians showing up wouldn't be good. As a matter of fact, it'd probably cause an escalation between us and the thargoids. They see us using Guardian tech, they see the Guardians are back. They'd probably amp up the conflict thinking we had teamed up.

And the Guardians were always an aggressive species as is so there's no guarantee they would even ally with us.

Correction:
The second columns is almost guaranteed to be the letters we said, because the prefix varies only between 0100, 0101, 0110 and 0111.
So: _oal_ack_neb_la._The stones. He keeps watching the stones.

Heh. Agreed.

Keep in mind that the bubble being on fire and the wreckage of humanity limping away in barely functional ships is something i would call ‘interesting’.
