I got Anaconda (and later Corvette) cravings since the day I tried my first Sidewinder. So I quickly got to the Cobra MKIII, and then to the Asp Explorer, a ship I quite like and which I used for some elemental trading and Sothis runs.
I was going to save and jump straight to an Anaconda, but I did in fact got a Python. I told myself I could recycle some modules and, all in all, not lose much when I discarded it.
I immediately fell in love with the sleek hull. It oozed style. The first test flights were very satisfying, and I liked the hardpoint placement, the choice of variety and sizes of its internals, and the more than adequate cargo space. And it can use outposts, which I find an absolute must out there.
Special mention to its cockpit view and distribution. I absolutely ADORE looking around me when jumping through witchspace. It's organized, it's beautiful. I'm a Delacy customer for life.
I ended up buying paintjobs and a kit for it, and I haven't thought about bigger (or other) ships since. I'm currently in the process of A-fitting it completely, with a very nice LVL5 FSD roll and currently working for my Palin invitation, but even a Lvl 3 Dirty drive mod is quite noticeable. I was about to furnish an Asp for the 5000 Ly trip, but in the end I decided to do it in the Python (which jumps around 29 Ly, not bad).
When it is fully engineered, it will be a beast, and I will take it to the edge of the galaxy (no need to rush it, right?).
