"Development Level >>"? Figuring out what all these numbers do.

So, I have a Coriolis orbiting an ELW (different system than the one I mentioned some time ago), now with High Tech economy also present, the system has 46 Tech Level, 4 Security, 4 Wealth, 17 SoL, 15 Development - and still no Universal Cartographics, nor Vista Genomics. The station did update, because my shipyard, outfitting and commodity market got much better. This makes me wonder: what might I be missing? Looking at the crowdsourced data, there are plenty of other Coriolises that do have them.
up development alot

Thanks so 240% influence from the bio signal, and 140% from the rocky body.

Time to scan my systems for a rocky body with no organics, and no volcanic for a pure refinery Coriolis.
I think we can still build refineries on any body: the weak links will be pure refinery. The question is where to weak links go? Can we control it through careful port placement?

1) System 1, pop was 15800 is 475067 (what!?)
Star M +1 Coriolis +2 Space farms,
was: 0.5 agri, fruit+veg supply ~ 5027
is: 1.0 mil, 0.8 agri, fruit+veg supply ~ 63447
Still low sec, interstellar factors still there - currently
Had coffee, I think, now I don't.
Comment: Sad that my monks turned military,
but station seems to be more POPular now.

2) System 2, pop was 272450 is 52.6 mio (what!?)
2.1 1 exemplary T1 orbit ind outpost "vulcan" (have 3) was native 1.0 ind is 1.4 ind,
maybe due to weak links from 3 other native inds,
orbits a landable rocky no at no bio
2.2 1 T1 surf port was native ind 0.65
is 0.95 ind, 0.25 mil, 0.15 agri, 0.15 extr, 0.1 ref, 0.1 ht
is on a landable rocky no at no bio
Lost Computer Parts and Muon imagers
Muon imagers - OK don't need them that often,
but missing Computer Parts hit hard.
Gained some stuff that should not be there
Purpose "one stop intermediate large pad industrial shop" is lost
It's anarchy so maybe some people will have fun with supplies.
2.3 1 T1 orbit ind outpost "vulcan" above that ind T1 was native ind 1.0
is ind 2.25, 0.25 mil, 0.15 agri, 0.15 extr, 0.1 ref, 0.1 ht
formula approx: everything from surface port - some nerf on the main inf, maybe from rocky planet
OR main if from surface port + weak links
2.4 1 T1 orbit col outpost (commercial), primary port, was 1.0 colony
orbits landable icy with atmosphere and bio and ring, nothing else built there yet
is extr 1.55, ind 1.45, agri 1.15, terraforming 1.0, mil 0.25, ref 0.1, ht 0.1
seems to get extr, ind, agri, terraforming from planet
Market is what's generally produced in great quantities by the largest economies
2.5 1 T2 Coriolis was 1.0 refinery from 2 refinery hubs
on a landable rocky with ammonia atmosphere and life
is ref 3.4, agri 1.55, terraforming 1.0, mil 0.25, extr 0.15, ht 0.1, ind 0.05
Lost Insulating membranes,
rest seems currently in sufficient quantity to suffer more contamination from weak links
gained some stuff that I don't need there, and some of it in useless small quantities
Copper and Polymer supply exceed megaton mark.
2.6 1 T1 orbit scientific outpost around water giant was 1.0 ht
is ht 1.1, mil 0.25, extr 0.15, agri 0.15, ref 0.1, ind 0.05
Lost some useful HT stuff like HE suits, gained stuff that I don't need there
2.7 1 T3 surface port was 1.0 colony with 1 HT hub athena
on rocky with CO2 atmosphere and life
is agri 1.55, ref 1.5, ht 1.25, terraforming 1.0, mil 0.25, extr 0.15, ind 0.05
should have become ht, miss some ht stuff in market, can add 1 more hub and 2 space to push that.
no fresh food in market with agri 1.55, guess the population eat all of it
on the other hand, have gained a monster of ground refinery without building a hub, feels like cheating.
Have 674 kilotons of CMM and 4 megatons of ceramic composites. Rocky planets rock.

Hypothesis:
Remote weak link inf seems to be 0.05, which is about as bad as expected and will accumulate to a problem.
BUT: Ref Hubs have been boosted or get more boost when on correct planet type, which reduces impact of weak links
AND: EITHER remote weak link is muted for industry (should be 0.2 instead of 0.05)
OR there is some way to sink remote links into ports to prevent them from spreading!?

Impression:
Weak links about as bad as expected, but Hub and/or planetary boost saved the day.
Lost something, but gained a lot - even before the pop boost, which is just crazy.

A civilian outpost above a WW now has a pop of 206 million.

Ok, so I talked earlier about my Doomed Coriolis, that is orbiting a planet with 6 refineries, and doesn't sell not even Aluminum.
Those 6 local refineries links go into the ground port, but because of the planetary influence, it's main economy is extraction.
The bug: ground port with refinery 5.3; extraction 2.95 is linked to the orbiting Coriolis as an Extraction asset.
Furthermore, those 6 refineries are not seen at all by the orbiting Coriolis, it sees only 2 other refinery hubs from a different planet.
The only work-around : to build more refinery hubs in the system.

Same as me, the Coriolis doesn't see (at least in the UI) the strong links from the refineries on the planet it orbits. It does get the strong influence from the planet, being a HMC, and assorted weak links from elsewhere in the system.

This could be a bug.

Do you have a port as well on the planet?
This is the way it was supposed to work:
In the event both a planetary and space-based ports are present, planetary facilities will create strong links with the planetary port, which will pass these strong links on to the orbital port following the same prioritisation rules regarding tier and build order
Obviously something is not working right, the links are not redirected.

Double check the economy proportions on the Coriolis. Strong links from a surface port only show as one economy type, but carry over the strong links from the planet proper up to the orbital.

So i had a coriolis over a 7 slot hmc, due to the the previous economy influence bug i decided to hold off from finishing a refinery until update hit.. After update hit i had 140% extraction, 5% industry and 5% hightech... Now there were some insights at that point, that even those 10% small weak influences were able to destroy the entire palladium supply, as well as some other extraction things, and that supply vs demand really ought to be rebalanced.... But then i decided to finish the refinery i had....

So yeah, be careful finishing anything right now, economy updates might brick the entire economy you had going on!

Meanwhile fdev is celebrating how many bigger haulers they are going to sell off of this goddawful gameplay....

I had hoped to be able to reverse engineer some of the market logic with my spreadsheets, but at this point im just going to mothball my carrier services and set off for something better, abiotic factor 1.0 anyone?
