I'm not sure I'll switch to Win 12. Not too many things (games dx12) support it right now. I'm not even sure ED will run on it.
ED runs on Windows 10 tech preview absolutely fine.
David braben has been quoted as stating that this the the last Elite game he will release, and instead of new games we will see it evolve with new features added. With that in mind I would say that E: D will certainly get DX12 support, though i wouldn't expect it for a few years yet.

Even if you have win10 with directx 12 installed doesnt mean it uses directx12 fully. The game engine would have to be redone to fully use DX12. I hope they are working on the upgrade.
Would force many people to buy a compatible graphics card DX12
When they get round to upgrading in a few years (see my last post for details) I would be suprised if everyone doesn't have a DX12 compatble card already.![]()
I'm interested in this one two! Can we have some official information please?I mean it's not a spoiler or anything, so please do tell

if i understand dx12 correctly you can still use it to play dx10/11 games and take advantage of the mantle/multi GPU technology.

Always takes a while for the industry to pick up these new standards/versions from what I have seen. Perhaps after Win10 has been released and out for a while, gains significant market share then FD might look at it?
supercruise stuttering... for those using multiple cards anyways.
With the Rift and Vive using duel screens for VR, DirectX 12 will allow you to use separate graphics cards for each eye. Let the fun begin.
