Discussion Thread #10 - What is your favourite animal in Planet Zoo?

It is really hard to pick a favourite, as I have animals that I need in every zoos and some animals I like to watch the most.
But all in all: The moment I knew we will get the California Sea Lion, I got some inner peace. Every animal we get from now on is a welcomed addition. And while I still have some urgent wishes (Asian Small Clawed Otter and Maned Wolf), without the Sea Lion the game would never have felt complete. So Sea Lion it is.

It changes ever so often, particularly when we get new animals. But I definitely have a weak spot for the red pandas, gemsbok (if we ever get them, this might shift to the oryx antelope/addax) - I just love making desert habitats with steep canyon walls and a wadi going through it -, and my current top animal, the fallow deer. I grew up close to a small animal park in Germany with free-roaming fallow deer. We would often visit them several times a week. And when the entire herd was resting at the edge of the forst, chewing the cud - what a sight! Nature pure right in the city. These animals are just so beautiful.

Wow this is such a hard decision because I love all the animals! But I have some animals that I just love them all the behavior the way they look and they are the Southern white rhinoceros, European badger, meerkat, and California sea lion but I have so many other animals that I just love them (it's one of the hardest decisions I have made in my life lol)

My favorite animal is the Lycaon. As soon as I see a Lycaon in a zoo or comment I have to stop and they go to my zoo. I also really like the Eurasian Wolf, Arctic Wolf, Spotted Hyena, Okapi, Red Panda, Giant Anteater, Fennec Fox

It's a hard decision but I'm going to choose the three animals that I also like in reallife the most: the African wild dog, the African elephant and the polar bear.

You ask an animallover to choose just one ? That is an impossible question! :ROFLMAO:
African elephant, Black panther (jaguar) ,Badger and Aardvark .
I am a catlover , so proberly the lynx will complete this list, but I can't say this because I haven't got one in the game yet.

It's like choosing a favorite child. There are so many "S Tier" animals I can think of. I absolutely love the Lemurs, Bears, and Ungulates. My favorite animal in real life is the Red Panda, however it is not my favorite in Planet Zoo. Still top 10 worthy though. Hmmm... this is tough, like really tough. I gotta go with the Indian Rhino. It was between them and the Cassowary. The Rhino is beautifully done, has great behaviors (for lack of a better word). I just really really like them. I think if the Malayan Tapir gets remodeled, they could become my new favorite.

I'm a big fan of felines in game and in real life. So naturally, all the cats in the game are my top picks.

From just a pure building perspective of the game, my favorite animals in the game are the smaller ones like aardvarks, prairie dogs, pangolins etc.

If I had to say what my favorite animals in Planet Zoo were, that would be a tough answer to limit it to only one. So, I figured I'd list my favorites by base game/DLC.

Base Game: The Elephants. African or Indian, either one are truly well done.
Deluxe Edition: Komodo Dragon or Pygmy Hippo.
Arctic Pack: Polar Bear.
South America: Giant Anteater.
Australia: Tossup between Dingo and Southern Cassowary.
Aquatic: This is probably the most basic insert term for female dog that can be used in a derogatory sense pick, but I'd go with the King Penguin.
Southeast Asia: Clouded Leopard.
Africa: Fennec Fox or Sacred Scarab Beetle.
North America: California Sea Lion or Cougar.
Europe: Fallow Deer.

Oh god, it changes almost every DLC we get. Really love the Beaver and the Badger, but I am partial to all wild cats, so both the big cats (Lion, jaguar, cheetah) as well as the small cats (lynx). My favorite of all the cats is the clouded leopard though. I'm not very fond of the weird slow-motion jumping bug, but I love these cats in real zoos. Small cats with beautiful markings and humonguous canines. They are the largest canines comparative to head size of all living cats. In fact they are the closest thing to the sabre tooth cat still in existence. This alone makes me love them.

God, I just love so many animals… meerkat or African penguin, with the meerkat barely getting priority. With that said…

Africa: Meerkat or penguin
North America: Sea lion or prairie dog (many good options though)
