DLC 19 Speculation

It is a coyote. lets not start the nit-picking already please. Real life animals vary to an extend that two individuals might look like a different species based on fluffiness of coat, ear lenght, even different patters.I am really tired of people trying to always find something wrong with it. They base the animal on some reference pictures, but real life animals vary alot. Just look at those, all coyotes, but completely different, some more foxy like, some more wolflike, some look like a dog... Please consider that.

I see wild coyotes all the time. They look different each time. Heck, some look small and thin, others look large and wolf-like (might've been a coywolf, but still)

Coyotes have a lot of variety, especially since they've moved in where wolves were exterminated. I believe they have several subspecies, like gray wolves have

Looking at the scenery I'm not sure if the sunflowers we had were part of a free update or were part of the conservation DLC. If they were part of the Dlc, the ones in the concept art might be new sunflowers?
Yep, they're Conservation Pack.

As to what's in the key art, I think that's a decoration, flowers seem a common motif for day of the dead for example, and it looks to be the wrong leafage for a sunflower.

There's no reason why Desert Bighorn and White Nosed Coati are more fitting picks than generic Bighorn or Ring Tailed Coati.

I really don't get the "desert bighorn" thing. We almost never get specific subspecies: think of the Takin or the Dama Gazelle. Both are clearly based off of recognisable subspecies (Sichuan and Addra respectively) but in-game they're simply listed as the entire species, with the entire range and biome preferences.

So I don't see why in this specific case they would make it the desert Bighorn Sheep instead of just generic Bighorn Sheep.

I agree general bighorn is more likely with a desert tag

Did you know? Some Coyotes in areas of Louisiana have tons of Red Wolf genes!
Actually, Red Wolves and Coyotes are very closely related, depending on what genes you're analyzing they can be identical. Also, Coyotes are expanding further and further south. Whether or not they have DNA from Mexican dogs or Mexican Wolves is completely unknown. Coyotes are very adaptable! The ultimate Survivor!

Also, Frontier's take on them captures the beauty and mystery of them perfectly! I love how he looks sly but far from mean...

I don't think they had any of these new animals even in plan when designing Zookeeper's pack.
I absolutely doubt this pack wasn't planned before and not just switched. Frontiers decision making is SLOW, probably because there are more people involved in the financial planning than we can even imagine. It was not a spontanus decision based on Coaster 2 to add another pack with these animals.

That does not mean that I don't think they now might plan extra DLCs that were never in the loop before. I wouldn't bet on it, but I also wouldn't be surprised anymore either. PZ might not be the bigges revenue maker, but a consistent one and in the state they are in, consistency can save the day - or the development of future games that bring more revenue.

I don't completely think this pack wasn't planned, but I do think that when they planned Zookeeper's that they planned it to be the last one. If things changed later they'd still have to release packs that they had ready, instead of making completely new stuff, which in this case were Barnyard and Zookeeper.

But then again, I don't have any rational backings for my arguments, it's all based o general vibes from Frontier and PZ team, so you just might be right

I think of I had to put the lineup on a tierlist so far I'd give it a solid B.

S - Greater Rhea
A - White-Faced Saki
B - Coyote (yes this high I'm shocked too but I'm actually excited for it lol)
C - American Flamingo and Bighorn Sheep

No bad picks so far for me!

I will also manifest coati and mara lol
