DLC 19 Speculation

Yes they are. Markhor subspecies found in Pakistan are primarly found in hot and arid climate. This is average markhor environment in their southern range.

Im genuienly curious why do you think otherwise. Quick google search indicate markhors can tolerate extreme hot as well as mild winters as far as it is dry enough.
It would be nice if someone could report this on the issue tracker so that the Markhor gets more biomes in game then. I would usually do it myself, but I won't have access to a computer for a while and I can't do it on my phone.

I actually like the bobcat... It's on the same level as the coyote to me and I already prefer it to two of our animals (flamingo and sheep). It's a very common animal in North American zoos so it definitely would be deserving of a place, and it would be nice to have a smaller cat for the Nearctic I think. That being said I could very easily live without it, as I could with most cats at this point.

Huh, when I google it it doesn't apper anything, and when looking at some websites it doesn't mention anything about arid environments, so sorry for the confusion. I apologise if I ofended you in any way. It's interesting to learn then that this species of goat is so versatile. Maybe frontier doesn't coun them as arid because they live more of a dry forest, or more of a type of biome with dry shrubbery? Either way, thank you for correcting me and, again, sorry! :)
EDIT: One thin to consider is that the website where the original photo came from (https://www.wilddocu.de/straight-horned-markhor-c-f-megaceros/) says this: At least in the south of the Suleiman Markhor’s range – the Zarghun- , Koh-e-Murdar- and Koh-i-Takatu Mountains – the animals occur in alpine dry steppe and steppe forest. So if you consider that dry steppes are arid, then this is a website where you can find information about their habitat.

Tbh the biggest argument that this isnt a owl, vulture etc is that why in the nine hells would you not put that smack dab in the front and center.
Like chances are if you had that it would have the same marketing value alone than the rest of the animals combined
They waited till the end of the trailer to tease the swan for eurasia so who truly knows

I can totally see why.
You can dodge all the hussle of dealing with super complex new animations and prehensile tails shenanigans you would have with the howler and especially spider.

So if you consider uniqueness, ease of making and captive presence the saki is pretty much the ideal choice
not to mention that the saki is one of the bigger NWM which means it will be easier to work with

The thing that scares me a little with the coati (and to a lesser extent the mara) is that wouldnt it be smartest to put what is easily the highest profile animal for this theme into the marketing for the pack?
Especially in a time of struggle hiding what would likely be the biggest seller seems like an odd move (not a marketing guy so maybe im completely wrong)
both the coati and mara are not high profile animals when comapre to the coyote. Outside the americas themselves these animals are rarely discussed outside the context of zoos or zoo nerds. I legitimately barely knew either existed before joining the forums.

Idk I kinda like him, he fits in with the critters we got from the twilight pack and with the coyote, it would complete that set of small critters. Plus the only cats we have for NA are pretty big, would be nice to get a small one. Of course the same could be said about South America but idk comparing the Ocelot and Bobcat, I just take a preference to the Bobcat. Of course I would still want a mara more, but I wouldn't be mad at all for the bobcat.

I get it. And certainly Bobcat has a place in a zoo game.
But both Bobcat and Coyote are very controversial picks...seems a bit too much for Frontier to add BOTH of them in the same DLC.

I wonder if there is any possibility for the agouti? In the past I said I prefer it to the mara but idk now we know we are getting the rhea I feel like I need the little Patagonian guy. In a perfect world we would have both I guess, I still would love an agouti for tropical houses
Same they're like enlarged guinea pigs and so cutr
