Is that confirmed?

I really, REALLY hope you're right. Gosh, if that's really the roster, I couldn't even find the right words to describe my disappointment. 😟
I get that. Even though, to be fair, there are a few animals I wanted and on the other hand, I didn't need any animals in the first place on a particularly high level, so I don't really understand why I'm disappointed, but... ya know, South America does actually exist, despite Frontier thinking otherwise...
And there is a weird species choice again and then those... tiny oddballs. all so weird.

I feel you. Like sure we get the baboon, secretary, tree ro, echidna and a duck but who even asked for or really wants the rest of those? I mean i would like all but there are FAR better options, even among "easy" clones.

And what theme would group all of that under a DLC.

"Zookeeper Pack"
They did that with JWE and JWE2. We are basically getting the scraps they had laying around. Animals that would have made it into the other DLCs but then didn't or those who are easy clones, yeah.
I mean, I kind of expected it, but still..

my eyes every time the mf'ing lqa remains unchanged

No, for all we know the planco dictionary entries could be animals that were going to be added but later changed for some reason.
I'd say that for the ones that were added this year there's a bigger chance that they are not scrapped or changed than that they are. Both due their timing and how far along in the process you'd have to be for that.

That being said (in general), that roster is still speculation and aside from the extremely obviously specific ones like Hamadryas Baboon and Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo a lot of it can be used for different things than just animals or even Planet Zoo. I wouldn't consider that list as anything remotely set in stone to what Frontier is going to release.

It probably isnt I just looked through the dictionary and made a bunch of random animals only a few of those I think are actually leaked like echidna, tree kangaroo and baboon all the rest besides lemming are just combinations of already existing words.

Also good to know that simply speaking in planco has everyone convinced I am correct

I agree there is a big chance that the april entries are significant but realistically there are so many random animals in the dictionary like lemming that have no reason to be there and have been for ages that not every entry means something.

For what it's worth, "hedgehog" just refers to that topiary we already have in the game, most likely. The European hedgehog would be a super stupid addition and I doubt even Frontier with all their questionable choices over the years would be that dumb. I also feel like 'lemming' is some kind of Planet Coaster ride.

Could also be the african hedgehog, which is somewhat regulary kept.
But idk how i feel about exhibit mammals in general

I want exhibit Mammals. Specially rodents and stuff like the maked mole rat. We already have bats and sloths that also move in loops and random spawning points. It wouldn't be much different in a exhibit box.

The one thing that gives me any pause is that "Howe" has been in there since January (from what I've been told/read here) and we aren't sure how long it's been there because folks haven't really been checking. Haha.

Obviously, the bulk add of the new hyper-specific words like Goodfellow, Hamadryas, and secretary are probably a bit more telling (especially all at once!) but still... It's potentially odd that they added "Howe" and the stick island insect was never added to the game.

In general, though, it's odd that they would bother creating a name for anything that's not going to be in-game. I would have assumed that would be one of the last steps in the process...

There's a very small number of mammals I'd be okay with having in an exhibit box. And naked mole rats are #1, hah! The slow loris is the other. And in both cases its purely because they would functionally be incredibly challenging in a standard habitat format.

But in both cases, the current "typical" exhibit size/shape wouldn't make so much sense.

Yeah but they didnt do it for the normal exhibits after the WE came up on the scene. The tortoise especially needed it, yet they didnt do it

I decided to look into how an Islands theme might filter the 2024 meta-wishlist, and got to the following lists (chosen min of 2). This is a pretty literal translation, looking at exact names presented, selecting island subspecies if they help get it in.
