DLC18 discussion and predictions

I already mentioned the babies issue before. But in terms of it being the largest mainland tortoise, their average size range is actually pretty similar to the brown-throated sloth. If a walkthrough exhibit can hold multiple of those, a sulcata tortoise lawn seems very feasible.
Let's not pretend habitat-viable animals haven't been in exhibits since day one either
What baby issue? I'm sorry, but there's no way you can convince me Frontier would put sulcatas in a WE. We have tortoise like them in game, that work just fine in habitats.

Wouldn't the fact that there's a song titled after echidnas only compliment their high demand and therefore reason to be added? And if was added to reference creatures of Greek mythology, why echidnas specifically and not ones more people recognise like cerberus and minotaurs? Conversely, the word secretary has very realistic applications. Though I will admit that the only related word I could find in the dictionary was "manager", so I suppose the rationale evens out.
The reason I'm working with is that people don't like having to micromanage tortoises (even with the update they made). Sometimes you want just a small breeding group and then end up with a small city's worth of them. Contraceptives are only a bandage fix for many players. And to be honest, I don't really want spurred tortoises in the walkthrough exhibit either I'm just thinking like Frontier and thinking how to get our dictionary words while also staying within the established formatting of Animal Packs. This is the baseline, and we may very well see something completely mind-blowing. I'm just calibrating my expectations based on trends and known evidence. People are free to disagree of course
But your argument for their inclusion is that they are in the dictionary so these other reasons mean that they might be in the dictionary for other reasons so they wouldn’t be in the pack

Too many babies at a time, which snowballs their welfare due to no longer having enough space, food, shelter, and enrichment. With contraceptives being the only "solution", your option is either max babies or none at all.

But I don't think it's entirely fair to make an animal a WE because of the offspring it has. Crocs have a lot but in-game they lowered the number. And many other animals have way too many offspring and breed like rabbits...

Do y'all know how many peafowl and llamas I get when I have a breeding pair? I can make 5 zoos with them

It’s not hate, just most people have other priorities
Yeah, I don't mind getting a walrus but there is more important, like my beloved hyrax Screenshot_20240929_140534_Google.jpg

Not at all. But they move fast enough to where the limitations of the WE aren't needed. Then again, the butterflies move extremely fast; with that reasoning shouldn't they be habitat animals?
Honestly with iguanas being stuck as exhibit animals, I'm not really sure what the criteria are for something to be a habitat animal.

The only arguably ambiguous words are "secretary" and "echidna" (and even then, secretary has more real-life application as a standalone word than echidna IMO). Everything else is quite animal-related (including "spurred").

Peafowl, llamas, and even crocodilians also aren't molasses levels of slow. While peafowl are small enough to fit in walkthrough exhibits, many real-life zoos have them roam freely around the entire facility. I have strong doubts there's any zoo with free-roam tortoises.

I'm defense of the iguanas, they are base game and possibly could've been added as habitat animals, assuming they were DLC.
However, most of the time I see iguanas in terrariums and not roaming free, so I dunno

No, but what does free roaming have to do with tortoises being a habitat animal?
The black spots under its eyes are sooo disturbing!!

Am I trypophobic ?
Thanks, now I can't unsee it

Because tortoises simply aren't as active or mobile as peafowl. Sulcata tortoises primarily walk around, sleep, and graze; it's a rather idyllic life if I'm being honest. Peafowl have much busier habits (ex. flying, perching, dust-bathing, preening, calling, displaying, running), so they aren't situated doing 1 thing all the time.

Girls&Guys, I know it sounds a bit crazy, but if...

If the "highlands" keyart, teasing Palla's Cat / Hamadryas Baboon / Markhor, was just the first clue for a bigger thing ?

They said something like "stay tuned for news in a couple of weekS" (the "S" is important). Imagine next week we have a teaser, with a same-style keyart, but now in a rainforest theme, with (just examples) Coati / Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo / Black Howler Monkey, and next week a new teaser in an "grassland" theme (Secretary Bird / Patagonian Mara / Grey Crowned Crane), and next week, etc.

For a BIGGER final pack, like "World Tour Animal Pack" ? 👀

Let me dream please...

But I would rather get the whole pack, I really doubt a mountains pack would be our last one, so I hope this is a regular pack

If this is a collections pack, I see Walrus deserving a spot in the pack as the third pinniped in Planet Zoo. They really are unique comparing to the other 2 ones we have.
Wouldn't they act the same as the pinnipeds we already have? Whats unique about them other than the tusks?

I mentioned this before but i feel if you tease multiple key art you just make people think there are multiple packs coming, only for them to be dissapointed
