DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

The hybrid dinos isn't a new thing, it's been done since the 90s. There's a whole toy line about Jurassic Park featuring hybrids (Ultimasaurus being the biggest example)

Heck, the original Jurassic 4 draft featured mutant, made up dinos in the form of Excavaraptor, and this was done in the 2000s. It's not a new concept or a Jurassic World concept, it was done since almost the beginning

I don’t understand how people want and think we will get PZ2 with every single species from our current roster. You guys want avian species, aquatics and our regular species, plus more! 200+ animals for a base game is way too unrealistic. I’m expecting a larger(ish) roster adding a few new species (coati, ungulates, cats) and some new avian and possibly aquatic species (15 at best)

Its unrealistic because of modern greed, I agree, but things like this have happened before with many games

Not to mention that there is a whole plot about them being hybrids in the original book.
They could only reproduce on the island because they were part frog and therefore could change their sex.

the problem is not wanting the 200 species the problem is we are paying for a full new game if they only add one or two features and give us 80 animals for me thats no worth it at all and then i have to pay for a dlc to get the species i already have in pz1? honestly i rather buy some other game than speding around 60 euros on what is basically an update pz1 with less animals

Yeah. Here's my take on Jurassic: if you want dinosaur thrill/horror, just take it as it is. Since the original book the dinosaurs weren't realistic. I just enjoy them despite the unrealistic dinos.

But if you want realistic dinos, just stick with documentaries. There are several good ones out there. If you want paleo-accurate games, Prehistoric Kingdom isn't too bad, neither is Path of Titans (well, semi-realistic. The dinos look nice)

To be honest, I doubt this'll happen. Look at JWE 2 and PlanCo 2. They didn't seem to have much and didn't do well, but ended up (well, JWE at least) way better.
Now, will Frontier do that again or will they take their time? That's another deal entirely

I don't want to pay for models I've already purchased, TYVM

i only know those games by name, why did JWE do well if it didnt add much? and do you think JWE3 will succeed?

Visiting real zoos again, really makes me wish the exhibit and WTE wasn’t abandoned. The amount of times I saw some birds, fish, small mammals, and other little critters be held in something the size of the WTE or Exhibit box really makes me wish they saw more innovation.

The WTE is really big, and was bigger than some of the habitats I saw for parrots, owls, etc.
Likewise, I saw some habitats for harvest mice, naked mole rats, man it would be great if small mammals got a bit more love.

But yeah, here is Right Whale coming to complain about the lack of birds and fish in PZ after visiting a real zoo. Nothing’s new.

I'm surprised you aren't pushing for rightwhales to come to the game
Hey, I’m insane, not crazy. I choose to campaign for birds in PZ, I’m not gonna waste my breath on baleen whales in a zoo game!

However whales aren’t particularly common animals in gaming, so I am always happy to see them. Abzu, Beyond Blue, and Endless Ocean all fill that void very well for me.

Side tangent as well: PZ’s building isn’t the best for Small Zoos, however, large zoos like Henry Doorly fit perfectly for PZ. The massive indoor jungle, sprawling habitats, Giant domes, huge penguin habitats. It fits really, really, well. I wish my PC could handle the game better.

Too bad then. You don’t have to purchase them in a new game, we all know this will happen.
If it want to use them alongside sequel-exclusive species, then I have no choice in the matter. Imagine if they forced us to re-buy anteaters and peccaries for a sequel with coatis. If you want interesting mixed habitats, you're SOL unless you endorse slimy business desicions.

It's as unrealistic as having all the roller coasters, rides, and themes from PC1 on PC2, and that's exactly what's happening...

I can understand that not everything might be available from launch, but I think they can keep adding free content (which we've already paid for) with updates.
What good is it (in terms of diversity) to have flying birds and aquariums if I'm going to lose the land animals I already have? That way, I'll never be able to create a diverse zoo, let's say in South America. I'm going to have toucans and arapaimas, but I'm going to lose the ocelot or bush dog I just paid for...
