DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

There seems to be less hostility towards adding more big cat subspecies. I don't get it.
Your problem is that you're trying to "get" something. You're generalising individual opinions. There isn't actually anything to get. It's just different people prioritising different things at different times.

Maybe you're seeing less hostility to adding more big cat species simply because more people actually want those at the moment. The ABB might be sitting at #20 on the wishlist, but that thing is extremely outdated now anyway - if we conducted a list today, maybe the Asiatic lion would be at #5 and the ABB at #50. If we conducted it tomorrow, it might be reversed. Who knows? Who cares? There's no broad brush. You're not missing any information, you're just seeing a pattern where none actually exists.

Yes and i read there will be Liontail macaque and Sri Lankan elephant? Very cool, I like all this animals. What else can we get? Maybe Blackbuck or Langur?
That's right! Did you see the key art that was teased last week? You can see the lion-tailed macaque on the right and an elephant in the background.

From the badger and the macaque it looks like a South Asia pack (India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Maldives and Afghanistan). That's why the Sri Lankan elephant seems most likely.

So any animals from those countries are fair game!

A langur would be my dream, so would a Bengal slow loris 💚 I personally feel like they are unlikely because the lion-tailed macaque will probably be the only primate, but you never know!

These are the animals most people are predicting:

Blackbuck
Nilgai
Gaur
Asiatic lion
Himalayan monal
King cobra (if there is an exhibit animal)

But Frontier always surprises us so I can't wait to see what else is in there :)

I think a mongoose would be a lovely small animal to include. C'mon Rikki-Tikki-Tavi

There is a gorgeous stripe-necked mongoose in India and Sri Lanka. This would be a really fun surprise! The tail 😍

If there was any sort of planning involved the JWE3 trailer should not have effected planet zoo info release since the approximate time it needs should of been accounted for.
Well that "any sort of planning" could be that the team's full focus is on JWE3 and PZ has to wait until next week. Wouldn't be surprised that that is the case, not only to give JWE3 the spotlight but also because one of their senior CM's also left so I'd also take one thing at the time.

Or you know... plans change. People mess up. Unexpected things happen. This stuff happens to all of us, and it happens to companies as well. 🤷‍♂️

Did he left Frontier or just the Unlock livestreams?

Mongoose would be awesome.

Has there even ever been a pattern?
Well, not really, but the last two packs had kind of the same schedule with Teaser on Frontier Unlocked -> Announcement 14 days later on Tuesday at 15:00 CET. So of course, my OCD brain created a pattern out of it, I hate it.😅

Like others have already stated, loads of things could have happen or maybe it was not even planned at all to announce it yet and they just showed us the teaser sooner this time to keep us interested, who knows.

In all honesty, I don't care about the taxonomy here. To me pushing the species vs. subspecies thing is just another way of saying "american wildlife is more important than european / everything else". And I say that as someone who loves to build north american areas and would also like the American Black Bear.
If I am supposed to substitute the european brown bear with a grizzly every time I build a german medium budget zoo, people can just substitute with the asian black bear.
Eh I disagree, the american black bear is very different morphologically from the bears in the game. The EBB is very similar to th HBB and Grizzly. However both these models are very very old and one of the models that aged the worst because their ability to do fuzzy animals was not as good in base game. So I would love a new brown bear model
