DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

So, guess it all comes down to tomorrow's livestream. Will we or will we not get anymore DLCs?
I'm leaning towards no, this entire situation feels quite similar to the end of JWE2, about a year ago. Shorter time between DLCs, the singular free addition, and the previous DLC having no free update. Granted the actual themes more closely mirror Barnyard and Zookeepers.

On top of that, Console catches up to PC with assumedly the Americas & Asia bundle in July, with any future singular DLCs harder to sell.

I think it's a fruitless mission to try to extract patterns and meaning out of this. We have such little predictive power on future DLC - the only evidence you need is people being adamant that each of the last 5-6 packs were all the last packs... particularly the Zookeepers pack. I understand the entire purpose of these threads are speculation, and I'm not criticising anyone for arguing either way, but I guess I'd just say that we simply can't and won't have any definitive idea until we get further confirmation. There's every chance they don't even comment on it during the Frontier unlocked, and then we're straight back to waiting for possible further information

They've been selling the console DLC separately in addition to the bundle, anyway, so I'm not sure that's a major factor. I really think it's got more to do with their plans for other games. At this point it feels like PZ DLC are just a stop-gap while they get PC2 into a better spot and lead up to the JWE3 release.

A fall DLC, to me, will depend on whether or not they've got something planned for PC2 in that timeframe. If they don't? Releasing a fall DLC just ahead of the JWE3 launch feels likely.

But otherwise, I'm feeling quite the same way as you about the pack. It feels very similar to the end of JWE2. Plus: We've always said the last pack would be bigger. And it is... Just not more expensive. Thematically it doesn't feel like the end but it doesn't really have to. Especially if we're already well beyond the originally intended endpoint... Hard to tell, though, given all the different factors! It feels like a coin-toss, TBH.

Them not commenting on it during today's livestream would be a signal to me that we aren't getting further DLC. They've commented on that after Barnyard, Zookeeper, and the Americas pack. So I expect we'll get a sense of we're things are headed later today from the livestream.

Omg you're so right!! Just like they definitely won't leave us without the golden pheasant, mandarin duck, Himalayan monal, Victoria crowned pigeon, black swan, roseate spoonbill, Temminck's tragopan, southern ground hornbill, helmeted guineafowl, marabou, white stork, a pelican, an ibis, a goose, or a domestic duck, that'd never happen! We get so many birds a year!

At least we got a second Asian elephant...

They've been fixing the primate situation (kind of), not so much the birds situation, so... BIRD PACK FOR FINALE PACK.

🫠😭

I'm down.
Hear me out:

1. Rockhopper penguin (clone)
2. Grey crowned crane (clone)
3. Black swan (clone)
4. Golden pheasant (mid to high effort)
5. Great white pelican (mid to high effort)
6. Mallard duck (clone-ish)
7. Secretary bird (unique rig, high effort)

Not the picks i would make but we are for sure getting mostly clones in such a pack so this is the best scenario considering the possibilities and recent animal selection.

I love it! Just replace Mallard with White-faced Whistling Duck. Or Muscovy. I think a Tropical type duck is necessary for Aviary pack. IMO its NOT too cloney at all...

Dude they can’t have a bird pack! Don’t you know how badly we need the Gerald’s spotted and stripped wild dog which is only found in 5 zoos? Don’t you know about the Bumba Goat and Glup Schitto antelope? How can we ever live without Mike’s Sub-marine hoofstock?

Don’t you know Frontier has an endless collection of random mammals that aren’t the coati that they could use? What ar you thinking? KEEP IT TOGETHER MAN!

(I’m actually so down for the next pack to be a bird pack finally, that would feel like a good end point)
