three subspecies
They aren’t subspecies though, and tbh, all are different enough to me.
three subspecies
IMO Nilgai is better than Blackbuck. Although, both would add to the game.I would love an India Pack and I swear I would cry tears of joy if Frontier gave me my Nilgai. I had definitely lost all hope but maybe it could still happen... Please, Frontier, the nilgai would be a dream come true![]()
Do you mean something like a "North America pack," a "South America pack," and an "Americas pack"? In that case, Southeast adds "East" just like the others add "North" and "South" i mean you learn the difference between south and southeast as a kidImagine the confusion. "I'm going to buy the South Asia Animal Pack". "You mean the Southeast Asia Animal Pack?" "No they released a new one, just called South not Southeast." "Why wouldn't they call it something different? That's so confusing!" "Unfortunately, they really really needed to include a clone elephant and a clone peafowl, so this was the only way."
That's the closest in comparison but you're presenting it in a strawman way, given the actual names are "South America Pack", "North America Animal Pack", and "Americas Animal Pack". Definitely a cause for confusion, and I myself dislike the name Frontier used for the Americas Animal Pack.Do you mean something like a "North America pack," a "South America pack," and an "Americas pack"? Here's my India pack speculation from a while ago. If we replace Yak with Honey Badger, and maybe Hanuman Langur with Gaur/Elephant, I think that's a pretty accurate idea of what I want!By the looks of things the best option for the next pack would be to base it on a biome (eg Savannahs) or a lifestyle (eg Arboreal). If it were based on a location, I think India would make the most sense:
1. Asiatic Lion
2. Blackbuck
3. Hanuman Langur
4. Wild Yak (bit of a stretch but it has a small presence in India - Gaur would fit better but Yak is more visually and ecologically distinct from existing bovids in game)
5. Lion-Tailed Macaque
6. Greater Adjutant Stork
7. Asian Palm Civet
Exactly! Which is another reason why this elephant situation is so weird. The only way elephants could be included in a strictly Indian pack is if they were Asian elephants at the species level. Which is just freaking weird if you ask me. It can literally no longer be an India Pack if there is a new subspecies of Asian elephant. And like you said, South Asia is not super marketable and very close to Southeast Asia. And a general Asia Pack seems unlikely and would definitely be a choice by Frontier. Like, I admit I really don't want another elephant, but you really have to jump through hoops to make their inclusion in this pack make any sort of flipping sense."South Asia" also just doesn't sound as Nice IMO (especially when people are just gonna be honing in on India specifically).
Sri Lanka is part of the Indian Subcontinent, problem solvedExactly! Which is another reason why this elephant situation is so weird. True, I just assumed the pack would be confined to the actual country. But who knows?Sri Lanka is part of the Indian Subcontinent, problem solved
There's the South and Southeast Asian Metawishlist, and Random Goat's Metawishlist (Bornean is the one they have in common, and most common on both).Okay, fun question: Was another asian elephant species ever on a wishlist in the forum?
If it were, the Elephant just hurts more, given it's not on the main metawishlists, and the only proper clone really asked for consistently is the Asiatic lion (weirdly on the bottom of the South and Southeast Asian list).Could it be a generic asia pack? We technically never got one
I'm not opposed to it, I think it's just extremely unlikely we'd get them this far into the game's lifespan. Why are some people so opposed to fully aquatic animals like fish, sharks, and stingrays anyways?
Did any of the Planet Zoo devs say anything about fully aquatic animals? Never found any info about that so I can't confirm or deny it.
Like others have said no one’s opposed to them, but we’re 6 years into support. It’s extremely unlikely they will be added - same with flying birds. Why are some people so opposed to fully aquatic animals like fish, sharks, and stingrays anyways?

Why would they even do that?Still, I hope the Honey Badger is just a decoy to draw attention away from an aquarium DLC.
