DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

Do Ratels live in Jungles?
I think so, at least looking at their distribution range they cover most of the tropical Africa
If this is a more general asia pack i would assume they would do a different approach for theming, since our other packs with a big asia focus (SEA,tropical) already both go for that temple in the jungle vibe. If i had to do one id probably put like chinese pagodas or something on there because those are instantly recognizeable as asian.
And i think someone pointed out that the pillar in the front of the pack art is from the india theme, so there is that.
For a general Asian theme, I could see them finally adding the zen garden pebbles and Tori gates for Japan and maybe some extra pieces for the existing India and East Asia sets (not sure if they would expand the Indonesian set since it was tied to a DLC). Maybe they can bring the Indian almond tree from Planet Coaster 2 too. However, as you say, with the pillar from the Indian theme in the art, I think we could be getting an exhibit animal this time and no building pieces. I know they decided to remove the exhibit animals in the barnyard, zookeeper and Americas packs, but there have always been comments asking for more exhibits and regretting their omission in those packs. Frontier might have reconsidered that decission. I think researching and designing 80 pieces must require more time and effort than making an exhibit animal. Maybe that's why the wait time this time is shorter. Making clone-ish animals and exhibit animal must be quicker if there is no building theme.

Possible Indian exhibit animals:
  • King cobra
  • Indian star tortoise
  • Indian flying fox
  • Indian chameleon
  • Leopard gecko
  • Reticulated python

Blackbuck, Gaur, Hog Badgers, Bharal, Langurs, Asiatic Lion, Jackal, Axis Deer, Himalayan Monal, Sarus Crane.
Unfortunately, none of those have the marketing power of the Honey Badger... it's not a particularly iconic Indian animal, but it is an extremely iconic animal nonetheless.
Similarly, the coyote wasn't the most ideal mascot for a pack composed mostly of South American animals, but it was still the most recognisable of the bunch to the average player.
The same goes for the Pallas' Cat... Although it's harder to pick an animal that really symbolises zookeepers.
Cats, dogs and meme animals have extremely high appeal because they're instantly recognisable. Of course they're going to be the mascots.

Still, whatever this pack is, it has some potential. I'm slightly optimistic

Why do people always dumb down the average player, they aren't stupid or have some type of neuro problem.

You're saying that I'm stupid because I can't tell two rhinos apart?
Your calling the same people who can't tell lions or birds apart stupid when you can't differentiate a White Rhino and a Black Rhino.

Thats called hypocrisy, Jessie.

So your calling people stupid because they are misinformed?
Misinformation is a thing, actively refusing to be educated is another... And most zoo guests I've interacted with aren't just misinformed: they don't want to learn either, and will try to correct you if you say something that isn't perfectly in line with their limited view of things.
I've had several people get mad at me because I told them that Humboldt penguins tolerate the local climate just fine, and that most penguin species don't live in the icy landscapes of Antarctica... Hell, I've seen people claim that "those aren't real penguins" because, apparently, no other species exists other than Emperors.
Signs exist, but nobody ever looks at them. A lot of people like to remain ignorant and will do anything in their power to defend their own, incorrect, views.

Read the actual post maybe?
I've never said that the average player is stupid. I just said that Honey badger is more marketable than blackbuck.

ON A SEPARATE NOTE, I said that most people I've interacted with in zoos are incredibly stupid. And not "can't tell jaguars from leopard" stupid, that's a relatively easy mistake for someone who isn't too informed. I'm talking "can't tell giraffes from zebras" stupid.
Those are the people I'm used to interact with, and that's why I have very low expectations when it comes to people's knowledge of animals.
