DLCs if support continues throughout 2023...! What are your 6 more DLCs?

If it's just two more packs, it'll probably be something like the conservation pack and a farewell pack: ie: some themed pack like deserts or mountains (forests were sorta covered by the NA and the Europe pack), and a farewell pack that is whatever Frontier deciedes are fun/popular.

If we've go six left, I suspect one of the packs will be a petting zoo pack - adding the child specific enrichment makes me suspect a petting zoo/playground pack could be in the cards. It would come with a roster of animals like miniature donkeys and dwarf pigs and goats, rabbits - and the animals could/might have specific animations that allow the children to pet them. In keeping with Frontiers not going back and adjusting most older animals, particularly for complex animations, llamas and such could still be in a petting zoo, just not petted.

I think it's unlikely we'll get either aquariums or avairys at this point, even with a six pack that's a lot of work and not too many packs left afterwards to provide enough animals (since it's very unlikely that any follow-up packs would be solely dedicated to birds, for example.
I honestly wouldnt be so pessimistic about the update part. So far, with every new behaviour besides digging atleast ome prior animal got it and if we ever get petting zoos im sure the lama and bactrian camel will be included in the mechanic

Eventually their mammal supply will end and this is chance for birds. Frontier wont be able to rely on weird and niche species. With conservation pack removing from play 3 huge names list is fastly narrowing. If they are really want 6 more dlcs its just matter of time.

So I don't assume we will get an aviary pack any time soon. If we do this can shape up all the remaining future DLCs. Somehow I don't hope we will get one, since birds will sacrifice a lot of my beloved mammals. Anyhow, I hope planet zoo will continue to make dlc's long after 2023 as well.
Please let me know what you think of this roster :)

There are something like 5,500 terrestrial mammal species. Assuming very conservatively that 90% are too small or are otherwise unsuitable to be added to the game, that would still leave well over 400 species….. The mammal supply isn’t going to end any time soon.

You are trying to convience me that they will rely on constantly adding so-called by community reskins? Worth to mention each pack have to include something new. I agree there are still many mammals to include, but this number aint that big.
I mean whats the point of adding 2 roe deer species or more than 3 tamarins. Diversity is alright, but eventually every pack would become ,,reskin,, pack.
400 is huge exaggeration from your part.

We’ll that depends on what you consider a reskin… is a Bennett’s wallaby a reskin of a kangaroo? I’d argue not but, even if it were, there are more than enough non-reskins left (however you want to define it) to have one or more non-reskinned mammals in many many more packs.

There are very few animals which could actually be reskins (look at the malayan tapir), they would mostly need model modifications. But I agree with @Doran that with any new animal for a caegory, the novelty of the category is reduced.

Most people preferred the ASC otter, but were much less hyped for it after the giant otter was inroduced.

Personally I think that there will never be an end of support for mammals until the support ends. There are still mammals which are great for the game and can attract the broad mass. I can imagine that we could get one pure aviary DLC if they do some flying mechanics and I if this happens I can imagine that birds will have 1-2 Spots in further DLC but mammals are the heart of the Zoo. Perhaps it is just my personal view in the things but I think most people go for the mammals to the Zoo. Birds and fishes are nice to see in-between but the mammals and the Habitat birds are the Highlights. And the same counts for packs.. One pure aviary pack would be a Highlight but afterwards it could become difficult to sell a further pure aviary pack to the broad mass. This is just my opinion about this. Perhaps I am wrong but I have that feeling about it.

Thats what I had in mind. At some point Frontier wont be able to rely on pure mammal packs anymore, due to lack of completly new species and birds should take some slots in each dlc.
Thank you for feedback. Much appreciated.

A post like this is so very difficult for me to reply to. I dislike seeing "IF support continues" because my personal experience is that the game still feels very stable and I don't see a reason to end it. I can only speak for myself with that statement and will readily admit that ymmv.

I also have a hard time saying "I just have to have" because, again imho, the devs are doing a great job with their animal selections, scenery pieces and to my delight, expanding the education opportunities. With the addition of roaming educators, I finally felt that educators were not virtually useless and now make sure my zoos have plenty of them to give those roaming talks.

Having said all of the above, lol, I, too, would love to see a Tasmanian Devil, Caracol, Sloth and more Penguins added to the game. Also, if possible with current game engine, I would love to have aviaries because they are becoming staples of zoos nowadays. If the engine is the stumbling block, I will live without them and not moan about it.

My final thought is "hats off to the devs" who try so very hard to please the PZ fanbase and are providing such exceptional quality updates and DLC for the game, especially recently. I didn't think any game would take me away from The Sims franchise but PZ is doing just that.

It's not a case of personal opinion or preferences, it's a case of realistic expectations. Personally I don't see any reason for support to end and I'm not expecting it to (I'm banking on at least one more year). The only questionable thing to me is that they're knocking the higher-up wishlist animals out of the park at the moment, but I can rationalise that, too - we know they only plan a year in advance, and most of those wishlist animals have been high on the list for over a year.

I suspect we'll get some more DLC in 2023, but I can understand not wanting to get your hopes up (and, in truth, my hopes aren't up, I'm just being optimistic).

Woodlands pack without the red deer is a no no for me 😋 the hog can stay, but I would oust the Malayan porcupine. Then the Indian porcupine can replace the tortoise in the desert animal pack. 👌
