DLCs if support continues throughout 2023...! What are your 6 more DLCs?

Red Fox : Different in colors and biomes (spans to every biomes), Nice addition to the arctic fox
Alpine marmot (could be american or siberian species): Slightly bigger and more fluffy and more Taiga and tundra biomes. This clone of the Praire dog could be easy filler and the alpine part of the zoo
Chamois (Alpine, Pyreenean, Caucasian, Vosgian and so on) can easily have nice fur variation depending on the species choice and different horns than Dall sheep or Alpine ibex.
None of those count as clones.

A clone animal is one that is morphologically nearly identical to an existing animal in the game. In terms of what you've listed, all three would require substantial edits from the original source model (Arctic fox, prairie dog, ibex).

The term clone is sometimes overused in my opinion. And you are right in my opinion that nothing of these animals are real clones.

I see your point and I totally understand it (specially for the chamois). They need a bit more work than the last leopard for example. But in the same way it is easy work compare to creating a model from scratches. The same for the animations.
I am not conviced creating a marmot from the prairie dog would take substantially more time than a Wisent. Maybe I am wrong, I am definitely not an expert of bisons and wisents.
And regarding some animals that we got in the past (Tapir) I am not convinced if Frontier was going for them they would go for big changes for the models.
So from this point of view I consider them easy spots for Frontier to correct with an appropriate term.

The size difference alone would require overhauling a lot of the animations and behaviours, whereas with a wisent it could reuse most of what already exists for the American bison.

At the extreme end of what a clone is, think of the black-and-white ruffed lemur. Yes, it looks strikingly different, but in essence it is very much the same as the red ruffed lemur.

Other potential clones would be;
  • another flamingo.
  • another tiger.
  • another giraffe.

A full new species like the marmot or chamois would no doubt use existing models as a base (pretty much all the animals in the game do) but they tend to be kitted out with new animations, new behaviours, new sounds, and all the other work that goes into a new species.

Yeah I agree with you the use of the word clone was inappropriate.

But considering Frontier work on some animals (which I don't criticize at all and totally understand) we know that the animals are not fully meant to be accurate and the animation can be reused even if not properly adapted to the animals. If these animals would pop I don't see much differences brought to their model behaviours or animations and mostly recycle.
To me they sound all easier to than raccoon, wolverines, or wild boars that would imply way way more work, despite they could maybe use some other models as base.
Maybe I am totally far from truth though ^^'

Aight my predictions are a mix of 'what I would expect' and my personal preferences. First of all, much to my regret the 'what I would expect' part makes me think we won't be getting 6 more DLCs, as sad as it is. So I will go on the basis that we will get only 4 more packs, which I find more likely.

Off the top of my head

Aviary park hopefully more of an expansion with 15 to 20 new animals

Aquarium pack with a couple of big mammals like walruses but mostly with small aquarium exhibits. Like 10 to 15 exhibits for sea horses, jelly fish, clown fish. NO WHALES NO DOLPHINS

Nocturnal pack. Cuts across continents and the majority of zoos have a nocturnal house. Could add new gameplay opportunities with animals needing to be kept in the dark. Introduce bats. Headline animals like wombat, tasmanian devil, fossa, aye aye

Primate pack. Some might disagree here but I do feel the monkey primate kingdom is very under represented especially the smaller varieties

Exhbit pack yes I want. I know the exhibits are not great but that just means there is room for improvement. In animations and sizes and styles. I would love this to have 15 new exhibits

Desert just so we can get the other camel type.lol

Yes, they are. A lot. And they are some of the more popular and common zoo animals. I guess they are also some of the hardest to model and animate though, so they are probably expensive to produce. Idk.

Idk if im alone on this, but there are for me just 3 exciting options for fully marine species:
1. Just the Manatee
2. Just Manatee and Dolphin
3. An actual Expansion like a Planet Aquarium

Because ngl, the only appealing fully aquatic animals to me are the manatee, dolphin and arguably seaturtles, because without a proper fleshing out of the exhibit/smaller aquarium System, building actual aquariums would still work better woth billboards and looping footahe of an actual one.
The Dolphin, Manatee and Seaturtles are the only fully aquatic animals that can easily be featured on their own and often are in zoos, while sharks, rays and other bigger fish allmost allways are part of an dedicated aquarium.
The one other option i see would be pond fish, because yeah living up our ponds with kois and the likes would be cool, but i doubt that anybody means this with an aquarium dlc.
And while yes, i know how controversial the dolphin is, if they do fully aquatic animals i would want one, simply because like it or not they simply are still kept in zoos and would offer some very unique design challanges.
It would beca real missed opportunity to leave them out and they would defently sell well with casual audiences.
So while i understand why people are against it, an Aquarium pack really wouldnt pack the fire for me without one and be cool but propaply nothing even close to needed and just deluding the animal selection by takimg the focus for this dlc and atleast some future dlc slots away from our normal zoo animals to literally just fish.

So yeah, actual expansion in the best case as a seperate but linkable game or a very limited roster of standalone animals like the manatee, dolphin, koi and seaturtle would be the only satisfying ways to bring fully aquatic animals in the game, which arguably wouldnt even be worth the development cost

I 100% agree. I can mostly see the manatee and the turtles being implemented.

Other fully aquatic animals i would like though are the arapaimas, but that is just a personal wish.

I would LOVE to see some red wolves (there already is a mod for it) because they are the most endangered K9 species and would love to see some support for them. It would also be really cool to see some specific species DLCs where like half of the proceeds go to the species (like for red wolves it could go to the red wolf coalition). along with species they could throw in other stuff to make it worthy of an DLC, or maybe throw in other dog species that we don't yet have. basically anything actually on the IUCN redlist would be cool just to show support for those species that need help out there

The red wolf is a tricky one. There still isn't a consensus on what it actually is, after one hundred years of study. Is it a subspecies of the grey wolf? A separate species? A hybrid animal that has been proliferated to the extreme? It isn't listed in CITES because of this, though the ICUN and the American authorities do classify it as an endangered species.

That selection fits better for a Grasslands pack (maned wolf, emu, secretary bird, saiga... all of them live mostly in grasslands not deserts or scrublands)

But i do love your animal selections in all these packs :)

All those animals are amazing, popular and i want them lol

Yes, they do, but their prefer biomes are grasslands. Even if they can be found in scrublands. I just think the list is better suited for a grassland pack than a desert one. But Frontier also cheats sometimes so maybe they do combine the two.
A lot of animals do not have this one specific biome. Taking the Red River Hog. They could have fit into the wetlands pack but surely would work also in a forest pack or a grassland pack.
