What is your point? What is the point of "this-game-is-not-for-you-argument" every time ED is being criticised? I wonder if the police stops you claiming your car is too loud, you will get away with "maybe this car isn't for you then"?
Your example is plain stupid. It would make sense if you were shopping for a car and found the car you tried too loud then you'd rather buy a less loud car. Who's the police in your analogy? You? The gamers that don't like it? Who's the player who enjoys it? Please elaborate your trail of thought.
My point? If you don't like it walk away.
On another note not referring to you.
When did games become products? I thought they were made by artists and code-jockeys. Where the hell did this idea that a game must cater to the personal needs of the gamer? Because it's become a huge business? A service? Not saying a game shouldn't continue polishing and tweaking, but this loud indignant raving demanding stuff from creators is NOT productive or constructive. It creates a rift between developers and gamers and just makes the makers loathe their job and despise the faceless horde of whiny gamers.
Edit: And oh, while I really like the game, not sure why excactly, the feel, looks, ambiance, I find it very offensive to be met as a worshipper or fanboy. I have no prior relationship to FD or DB until I bought ED on sale a while back. I knew not of the KS and have just recently come to realise what a barebones experience these backers come from and have some understanding for some of their frustrations. I came blind into ED, my only prior experience is playing it on my Spectrum 48K and while I digged it at the time it didn't register deeply as a profound experience. I started playing ED a while before Beyond and after the first 20 minutes I was hooked. I play everything. But Elite has taken me over. A part of me wants to loose interest so I can turn my attention elsewhere. There is no loyality towards its creators but I do get annoyed at the manic obsessed discontent towards this game. Not because the beraters don't like it, but because they come off like crazy ex partners just 200 creepy messages more away from doing a crime of passion. Ugly.
