Dove Enigma UA bombed, preventing completion of its voyage in time for the man it was named for.

Is there any way to trace who did this, maybe using 3rd party tools? I smell a 4chan challenge.
Someone on the PS Message for the Enigma Expedition had posted a screen shot of a guy claiming to have the intent to UA bomb the Enigma.

I believe it was on a Discord chat room.

Not sure if he really did it, but it seems a likely suspect.

I don’t think FD should do this type of thing again.

Do you know what? .. I agree with you, this is getting out of hand.

Calls for a perma ban, attacks on FD .. this is a game.

The community seems to be responding in a fantastic manner, Supporting the event. What happens if all these people detour from their objectives and FD "Fix" the issue themselves? .. will people start to complain because they went to help and FD fixed it (of course they will)

I wouldn't, because fixing at all it is more important than the method.

However, I would agree that it would be a complicated situation now that there's a fair amount of community support momentum.

Let's be fair here, the reaction to this has brought more attention to the situation, before this thread I had no idea .. doesn't that make it even more sucsessful and more importantly Memorable?

Sheepishly raises hand

So, um, how many metal alloys does it take to repair an "infected" station? I honestly don't know. Is the scale of this response a statistical need or a show of moral support? I have no problems if it's the latter, I'm just curious.
At last check, the estimates were 500t of UAs. More are likely on the way. So 2500 MAs are needed now and 5 MAs for every additional UA.

I haven't checked in a while, so my info is a couple of hours old.

We can assume eventual doubling of UAs delivered. That would fit the profile of these particular CMDRs.

There are two additional CMDRs that haven't apparently joined in with the griefers. Each has a routine of delivering 100 UAs per campaign. I would have to assume that they'll be joining.

So expect 1200 UAs. 6000 MAs will counter it. Anything above that would not be wasted. The extra MAs make the station (or in this case, megaship) resistant to future attacks.

And this whole debacle is why those of us who can't be griefed don't mix up in-game and RL, as then the game becomes a way of getting to you.

Hopefully Frontier will learn a lesson here: all the out-of-universe events, all the memorials to deceased relatives, the charity streams, all those feel-good doodahs, in a game which allows a degree of adversarial play, will come bite you in the back when someone in need of attention exploits the breach in the 4th wall you have created yourself. And at this point, either you betray what your game is about and simply god-mode things in the way you want them to happen with no disruption possible, or things will get nasty and personal as they are bound to when real people are involved.

Sucks that this happened, but there's legitimate in game ways to counter it. If I was in a position to help, I'd gather a cutter full of MAs and head out. Best of luck to the counter UA teams out there.

Not sure if it's been asked already but are there any barnacle sites to farm for meta alloys nearer to the Megaship?

If I have my co-ordinate correct, all barnacle sites are in the Pleiades, which is in a rimwards direction from the bubble, whereas colonia is towards the galactic centre on the other side of the bubble.

I just want to say that The Winged Hussars have a T9 parked and fully loaded with Meta Alloys. We kept it as a precaution in case our CG station was UA-bombed during that event. Luckily that never happened and the T9 is still there, filled with MA.

We will be donating all those MA's to help preventing the attack on DoveEnigma.
Nice intelligence data. If I were a bad guy, this would be a good time to switch to or call up a reserve force to the real target. Emergent gameplay is already achieved, community shows all of its good will, support and publicity. And the real target felt under radar for now and opened a possibility. Everyone should be happy!

Oh no, now I've spoiled someone's intelligence data.

Canonn map to the rescue!

Just out of interest, how can you transport 100 UAs over a distance of 20k ly? My Pleiades Conda has 8 CRCRs, so 16 corrosive things at a time, but even considering lots of AFMUs and synthesis, that would be a daunting task and take weeks.

Wow, I had no idea that UAs stacked. I just thought you had to deliver a certain amount and then the station "flipped" to infected, like a switch. How in the galaxy are so many UAs being moved such a distance? It's not like one can fill their regular cargo holds with these.

I think this is the key point here. Frontier consistently forget that there is a minority of their community that are twunts and will go out of their way to mess around with either events or whatever. Unfortunately their response to these disruptions appears to be also consistently toothless.
