Hopefully Frontier fixes the "disappearing stars" bug before DW2, or you are all in for a big and unpleasant surprise...
To be honest they sky boxes have always been broken with Elite, when I took trips to both Sag A and Beagle Point way way back they were pretty much broken.
This is a new, different bug, where the stars literally "disappear", to the point where you're just looking at a black sky. I've got screen shots in my bug report. The Bubble seems immune, but outside (where DW2 is heading) is a different story.
That said, I never was a fan of the Borg Cube star clusters![]()
Really looking forward to this. I wonder if FDev will surprise us with decals at some point, like they did for the original Distant Worlds expedition? I mean I'm not expecting them to, taking part and exploring with like minded Commanders is reward enough but it would be cool nonetheless![]()
Seemingly you have a very peculiar version of PS4 as I read all your posts.
Welcome aboard! The main thing is to outfit a ship with 34Ly jump range, so you can get to Beagle Point without jumponium.I’ve signed up today. Not sure what I need to do next and when so any pointers would be useful.
Laugh It Up, Fuzzball. When your stars start to disappear, then we'll see who's laughing![]()

Yeah this is seriously NOT funny. Experienced this my self last week. Please people, go out there. Jump around, like House of Pain told you to, and go check out what the space looks like after about thousand, maybe two, light years towards the center. I'd be interested to know how many others have this issue. I definitely have it, and it made me not want to explore at all before its fixed. And I totally love exploring now, with the new system.
I hoe you’re all benefitting from Preperation Week if you need it CMDRs!

Is there going to be anything for us PS4 scientists?
Hi all,
I'd really love to join in but have a couple of questions about the level of participation expected/required.
I'm getting married at the beginning of April and planning to emmigrate to Canada around August September, when I lilely won't have my PS4 with me for a while. This means that I'll have to spend periods away from the game after the summer.
If I join in for the first 7-8 months and then drop out tfor a bit (and find my way back home on my own when I'm back online) are other players/organisers going to get a bit peeved? I don't want to take up a place ahead of someone who can be more full-time, so to speak.
I read that the expedition averages at about 4,500 LY or so per week, which for my Krait Phantom is only around 75 jumps a week, not much at all, so I think I can always catch up easily if I ever fall behind.
Cheers
Thanks, that's very helpful.Hi! I hope you do join us! Would it help if told you we will hit BP in late May; after that it’s the return leg. Regardless of that, you are welcome always to pop in and out as it suits you. There will always be someone doing the same sort of thing and you’re unlikely to find yourself alone, unless of course you like it that way
