Earn up to 24p Per Week with ARX

Dang right.

Cosmetic skin sales was always the game plan rather than subs. The people feigning outrage at this "amazing revelation" just like moaning.
Call me a pedant but that is not quite true. Originally the game plan was everything to be earnable in game via specific tasks but that the shop would sell credits to supplement in game income. People moaned and FD responded. I know I am in a minority here so I a. Not complaining but as a person who uses the unlocking of skins etc as in game goals I preferred the original plan.

PS before I am accused of wanting to get everything for free and not pay my way, that is nothing to do with it. Whilst not the biggest backer of ED in the world I suspect I have paid more for elite than most.... But for me it is not about that. IF I could pay a 1 off fee but then have all cosmetics unlockable by doing in game tasks (specific stuff for specific tasks ) I would do it. It is not about money but about lost gameplay potential for me.
The thargoid bobblehead is a perfect example. Stuff for playing the game.

That's interesting - people complained about being able to earn things in game??

I was thinking that was the direction that the ARX update was taking fdev in - now that can give ARX for CG rewards etc...
People complained that it would be P2W. Which IF you come at the game as a competitive PvP game it is true I guess (selling credits would mean someone could buy a cutter day 1 potentially). But that was never a concern for me, hell I even ignored my free cobra. Like I said tho I respect why FD changed on that even though it would not have got my vote

Ah right - selling in-game credits - gotcha (y) I guess I can see why people thought that could be P2W, though I guess now they'd just be annoyed at the devaluation ;)

You could well be right, I remember the cash shop idea being squashed way back when (pay2win is bad). Earnable skins I can't remember at all though, probably because I don't care about cosmetics so its just not on my radar.

Look, cynicism over the idea that you can't by just the number of ARXs you want so you end up over paying is fair comment.

This is almost certainly going to be the problem once ARX goes live. I'm going to go on record and say that none of the prices for things in the store will line up neatly with any ARX pack you can buy. Deliberate ploy with the funny money. Since ARX earn caps at 400 a week earning ARX to make up the gap isn't really an option either. If the cap had been 1000 per week, then the situation might be different.

If the cap was 1000 per week you'd be complaining it wasn't 2000.

Passive ARX earning is a solution to the complaint laid out, but there's that need to complain anyway. And since paint jobs start at 620 ARX, the idea that 400 "isn't enough" is a laugh.

Let me know if you have something worthwhile to respond with!

400 definitely is not enough. 1000 would be a more acceptable position since I'm using Ship Kits as a more stable measure of what the ARX actually get you. That would mean over the course of 11-12 weeks you could build up enough for a ship kit. That would still be lengthy, but at least reasonably fair.

400 to work towards 11000 puts it at about closing on 30 weeks or 7 and a bit months, which is patently ridiculous.

Let me know if you have something worthwhile to respond with :)

EDIT: Yep, none of the ARX bundles you can buy will line up whatsoever with the things you might want to buy. Grats Frontier, you've made PC cosmetic purchasing categorically worse.

Say something real instead of making guesses about what someone else would hypothetically complain about in a situation which doesn't exist.

P.S.
ARX earrings are not passive and 400 is the absolute maximum it is humanly possible to earn. It seems likely that most active players will reach the end of each week with much less than 400.

In-game ARX earrings are designed to taunt you into spending money, and nothing more.

Speculation on whether the weekly cap is 'wrong' will be more productive with user data. Personally I'm looking forward to finding out how quickly I can reach the cap, assuming it is an achieveable goal :)

With decals being 50-150, and ship paintjobs starting at 620, I now see no issues with the Arx system.

The weekly cap of 400 seems right to me now, whereas as I was previously thinking it should be tripled due to lack of information on the new cosmetic pricing.

I'm only asking for a source because I think this is a valid point for which to ask about one.

Link to source please?

False. 400 is the weekly cap. There is potentially no maximum on how much Arx can be earned by playing regularly every week - in one year an active player would earn 20,800 Arx.
