Glad you got in sorry about the short response before on the mobile.
I have AA off and blur off, rest at max.
Sometimes takes a restart or two!

Heh no worries, thanks, will try it in game with settings pumped back up.

Interesting article on the BBC website for Rift fans:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29704953

Wow, surely there would be some queuing for that! Although it might cause a few issues of 'Waitaminute! There's lens flare on the stars!" :D

Got this just now:

"You're receiving this email because your Oculus Order #CM-XXXXXXX is about to ship. Since the full balance has been paid, you should not see any additional charges."

YAHOO!!!!

Package arrived at my home; I am at work. Kids very excited, because they know what is in the box. Wife a bit perplexed, because she does not.

Congrats guys, hope your setup is a little bit easier than mine was!

On that note, still having difficulties getting the thing to work properly with half the demos. Seems to be ok in ED though, although the amount of chromatic aberration is doing my head in a little.

I had bad aberration until I did the thing to measure the IPD in the Rift setup utility. That sorted it out.

I presume you have set up the IPD, after that its all about getting it right on your face and "being in the right frame of mind" to relax with it. I find if I'm not relaxed things get blurry . Probably may age!

Yeah I did the IPD thing, wasn't 100% whether I was supposed to get merely a shadow of green left, or the thinest 'line' of green on the edges though.

I also couldn't decide whether there was any real difference when I moved the cups closer or further away, although I presumed that was mostly for people who wore glasses.

Interesting about being in the right frame of mind, have only tried it one late night before an early shift and after working an early shift so far, so maybe tiredness was a factor.

Hi all need some help here got my DK2 today and got it all working fine except the one thing that i got it for elite.
i can get a picture its either on its side ( an easy fix ) or its left eye on right eye type thing. no matter what i do i cannot get this to work right any help would be most appreciated.

When the rift is turned on (hoping you have a second monitor set up so you can see) Right click on the desktop, go to 'screen resolution' and select the rift. Then select the orientation that you want... simple :p

I was also getting bad chromatic aberration, so tonight I tried adjusting the green lines so that I could see them fully, then did it again but leaving only the smallest bit of green in the centre at the extreme edge. The latter adjustment worked much better, stars now look almost like a single spot rather than a red and green binary!

I also tried changing lenses and alternating with one eye closed, then the other. I found that my left eye prefers the A lens and my right prefers the B lens. I actually tried with one A and one B lens in place and it was actually fine! However I have now settled on the B lenses as my right eye is the dominant one, so it's is also worth playing around with the lenses.

Anyone tried the new Nvidia drivers and the DSR? I could be hallucinating but, I could swear putting DSR on 4x looks a lot better. :S

I know it opens up a massive resolution in ED but, when I tried that the jutter was unplayable.

Sorry, what is DSR?

I think if I'm going to get any kind of full enjoyment out of the DK2 I'm going to have to play with it in such short spells. I can't quite cope with the 'gauze' effect, and the very low resolution, plus the chromatic aberrations.

Maybe I just have a low tolerance for this, but am really struggling not to feel nausea. I don't think its lack of framerate, that seems smooth enough for me, its lack of detail in the imagery and, like I said, this pixel gauze effect that covers everything.

Or maybe I'm just using it tired, again. :/

On a positive note, the ship interior really is the best thing with the DK2 on, it truly has a sense of place unlike anything else, and as I have my throttle and joystick setup dead on where it is in game, its incredible to see my avatar arms moving as I do, perfectly in sync. Quite amazing.

I think I just need to let the tech mature a bit.

So i tried SSAA *2 in graphic xml, meaning the game use a resolution of 3960 * 2160 then downscale to the rift screen resolution.

On my SLI of GTX970 i got 63 fps in the target practice scenario and only 43 fps in station in open play, so barely playable BUT the image quality is by far the best i've seen in the rift! That mean with a bit of optimization we should be able to play at such high res i the rift.

Usings DSR *2 with my SLI in ED resulted in better framerate (75fps in target prac scen) but i got flickering...

EDIT: all settings used was HIGH and driver was still 344.16 beta

Pure jealousy, really. We're waiting for ours and don't like to think of others already immersing themselves in new found, 3D loveliness! :p
