ED:Odyssey Update 7 Performance Issue and proofs

Hello there,

I did some record compairing my old and new CPU, a Ryzen 3600 and a Ryzen 5600X.
I got a pretty impressive performance jumpt from 25-40fps to 50-60fps, showing a strong CPU bottleneck.

But today Update 7 got live and I tested it... It's got freeze and frame rendering issues, getting very laggy and instable to play...
Now the game is unplayable, after getting a Patchnote saying the absolute opposite...

How did we get here Fdev?
My GPU is a RTX3070, so latest hardware possible right? How can I get 20fps and freeze?
Please you can do better than this.

I did use RivaTuner to mesure and show CPU and GPU usage, temp and watt consommation to show what is wrong, and it show a strong CPU bottleneck as a bad GPU optimization, or at least it's what I see

Wait a few days, performance is never all that good on patch day, the servers are far too stressed.

Never had a problem with FPS with my RTX3080 until patch 7. In a High CZ the problems start when you go near either the new Enforcer NPC's or the Ground to Air defence missile launchers, when it dips to unplayable, but away from these it's seems fine. Roll on patch 8 lol.

Sorry, but I do not buy any of this talk. I was reliably informed by The Faithful at launch that FD would fix EDO.

Fps is a little worse for me with patch7 plus massive stuttering when entering stations. (could be servers today though)
from my readings a 3080ti appears to power its way through odyssey adequately. But at £1600 it’s a massive purchase.
i really cannot see this version of odyssey making it to console, ever. This is really a PC game at this stage.

Flimley

Wanna have some fun? Set your GPU speed as low as Afterburner will allow. You should be able to go as low as 50% of your boost speed. If your GPU runs at 2000MHz boost clock you should be able to set it to 1000MHz. Type that speed into the "Core Clock (MHz)" field. Do not use the slider! Hit "Apply" and be amazed. If AB will not allow 50%; try 50%+50Mhz, 50%+100Mhz, etc until Afterburner accepts the input. You can do this while in game. The best results will be achieved at settlements and using a GPU from the last 2 or 3 generations. I was going to do a video about this but I'm just too lazy.

The frame rate does not change

If the frame rate isn't changing, the bottleneck is not the GPU and if it's not the GPU, chances are it's predominantly the CPU.

They did somehow manage to make the game's CPU limitation even worse in Update 7, but at 1440p ultra or above, I'm still more often GPU limited than CPU limited in settlements and reducing GPU performance does harm my framerate.
