Jeez Louise, take your meds and calm down, I live in whoop whoop Australia thats just a little south of no where interesting, playing on wifi! NO connection issues for me either yesterday or today and thats with a patch update on top.

Would it really be too much to ask for just an automated "servers are online" message somewhere on the web site or forum? It would go a long way in stopping needless frustration. I have been having troubles connecting since 3.03 and would really like to know if the servers are up or down at those times.

I've had zero problems connecting since 3.00 so i'd say your issue isn't the servers... How you fix that i've no idea.

Just popping in to say I've also connected several times, just fine, in the past 48 hours.

There has NOT been a general server outgae, ever, for Elite : Dangerous.

There have been some relases where some/many/most people couldn't connect. But this isn't one of those times.

Fantastic Nerd rage.
You aren't paying a subscription thus aren't entitled to 100% availability on servers 100% of the time. Sorry.

No, but we did buy a game that requires an internet connection at all times. That binds the developers to make sure that the servers are there 100% all of the time, everytime.
There's no way around that. I don't mind online connectivity, but I get mighty annoyed if servers for those games aren't up to snuff.
I don't even care what the reasons are.

It is either their servers, their net code, or something inbetween because there is nothing wrong with my setup and never has been. So don't you think that a really good place to start would be knowing if the server is actually up and running? Not having the phone number for Mr Braben or the FD front office, I can't very well call them and ask, now can I.

I'm really happy to hear that you have not had any problems, but my guess is that you do not live next door to me, or even play during the same time periods that I do. It could very well be something local to my area or my isp or some hop inbetween. I could even have the misfortune of trying to play while they back up the servers or some other high bandwith operation is going on. None of these sound very likely since several other players have had the same connection problems since 3.03.

I too will just add I have had no problems in the last 48 hours, and was not aware the servers have been down.

Had some server connection issues yesterday and I did see some posts about it here, not from Frontier though.

Cleared up quickly, then the patch this morning and everything is running even more smoothly, for me anyway.

As far as i can tell it isnt servers down thats been the problem...

i too started having problems yesterday, and for awhile i just continued trying to connect with limited success. today however , when i got my first disconnect (unable to reconnect) i ran a trace and the problem (for ME) was a server connection through Massachusetts. so its not the servers... nor is it the code... its hardware in between me and where i need info from.

The servers haven't been down for 48 hours, I was playing last night (less than 9 hours ago).

And I just managed to connect to the game without a problem.

Now back to making my kids' breakfasts - walk away from the computer, walk away Zplintz...... :/

I am absolutely appalled to see literally no post what soever, here, on Twitter or otherwise from anyone at Frontier concerning the absolute crap server availability over the last 48 hours.

There were a LOT of posts in this forum as well as a lot of tweet attempts to get a response with *some* kind of explanation, maybe just a, "hey, by the way, the servers are down, we're working on it" - but nothing.

This is a sad way for a developer to handle things for it's community, and it seriously raises concerns with me about the "launch" date. If this is the type of communication we should expect going forward, I won't be recommending this game to others any time soon.

Before some "I've waited 30 years for this" veteran jumps down my throat for having my own opinion - save it. This isn't a post about the quality of the game. It's a post about general respect for your players. I've even seen terrible companies like EA have some type of response when servers are offline - this is a minimum expectation.

Loose the attitude bud. You criticise the devs for lack of communication when they have just released a patch in relation to server issues. Then you make a comment about respect for players and then make a snidey comment about 30 year veterans. Way to go, neg rep inbound.

You talk of respect and post this, really? Also, I've had one disconnect and one ctd during the two live streams, and we had a new patch. I did these over the past few days. I really think you need to realize that what you experienced, few others did.

Shok.

Another post by someone who clearly lacks critical thinking skills (Reasoning: Most reasoned people would have simply asked if anyone else in the BETA were having server issues, ticketed it, and moved along - rather than ranting, questioning the developers intelligence and generally acted like a teenager). Move along people, nothing to see.

PS: Servers fine for me.

TS sounds like he feels entitled to play the game, while he's (and we all are) only entitled to beta test. Some ppl just need to calm down and realise the game has not even started yet.

Got a problem beta testing? File a ticket, do something else, come back later to see if you can test now. No? Tough luck...

Thank you for asking if other players are having problems connecting. I would have answered sooner but I had been enjoying glitch free open play for the first time and had missed your post.

It is either their servers, their net code, or something inbetween

How in the world could this be the case if many people, myself included, have been playing on and off for the past 48 hours with no issues? I'd honestly think that after seeing so many people refute your original post, you would accept that perhaps you're incorrect? Instead you double down and just keep insisting that something is wrong, while everybody else in this thread virtually has said they have no issues. Unless FD is running a server just for you personally, this cannot be FD's fault. The internet is a complex piece of plumbing, there are many pipes things pass through. :D

Next time do a bit of research, it would seem that FD servers where not down and this was a problem due to bad wheather in the UK that must have affected a local area that was connected to your machine, can we now expect an apology from you for your outburst ? or would an apology be too much for your pride ? and as others have asked you here did you report the issue you had to FD ? after all you are a BETA tester the same as the rest of us and i am sure FD would appreciate your report to them, might be more productive than wrirting your misplaced outrage here.

The lack of official response from the game makers is just par for the course. Most game makers lose connection with their players very quickly doing exactly this.

It would take zero effort for them to say "Sorry my bad" or something.. even if they just say "we are working on it.." that would be something.. but instead we get the silent treatment which only serves to alienate the customers. Sorta says they don't care about us enough to tell us whats going on and that's a sad state.

The OP posted at 2AM GMT. Your post is timestamped at 3AM GMT. You don't expect Frontier Community Manager to be in the office or at their laptop at that time browsing forums and checking every single rant post do you?

Give them some time, I'm pretty sure the offices in Cambridge are opened from 7 or 8 in the morning. They they need a breakfast and a coffee too. And a muffin possibly.
