Yup, must be server issue as now sometimes it goes away while playing.
Add some more servers!
I understand more players, I understand "Oh we are so humbled we didn't expect so many players blah blah". You have numbers of how many people you pulled in to buy Alpha and Beta packages. So calculate for ones and add some more damn servers.
PB is worse than Alpha 4.3. I have to wait 15 minutes to get through Stand by to dock, then I have to wait 15 minutes to actually undock. Your instances supposed to be for 32 players, every station has 24+ docking slots. I am sitting at the damn station with probably 85% docking slots empty and stpid station is not releasing me.
Please do something with your stupid Beta. This release doesn't deserve to be called Beta... Sorry for rant but you guys can't seem to make the game playable even for 32 people in the same instance. How worse can it get?

I don't mind waiting to be released, its kinda realistic. I mean its the m4 of space lunacy right now. Won't hurt nearly so much when we've got billions of stars to spread around. Now the 'oh hey you tried to dock on your designated pad? wlol. n00b. here's another random pad .. ' thing is both cruel and sadistic.
Docking is done in local peer to peer session, it's not related with server problems. It's a bug.
Yeah, I kinda like it as well. Expecially when the station changed its mind while I was cruising inside and had to wait 5 minutes before it pointed towards a pad that was directly behind me.
I only feared to be penalized for "loitering", other than that I appreciated the "experience". I don't want this game to get any easier

chill man...if you know anything about software development and scaling infrastructure this kind of stuff happens all the time. finding and dealing with these kinds of issues are exactly why they wanted players involved in Private Alpha , Beta tests. You chose to pay money and be involved warts and all.....this and other stuff will be resolved soon enough
I've never said this before but - it is beta.
This stuff happened earlier in the alpha, so they will fix it. This game is the higher end of betas that I've played. I just head off to another destination and eventually will die in a fight and spawn back on a landing pad in a new ship anyway.

Ive played 692 minutes, close to 12 hours. yeah I know, addicted
And ive just been doing trading and got my eagle and some upgrades on it.
During that time I had no lag.
One crash so I sent a report.
I forced a shutdown of the client two times. One when the space station I was docked at vanished and one when I was stuck at the exit of supercruise.
Didn't have any problems whit docking.
So since its just beta I think that's quite good.

Don't like a game that has just entered Beta borking up?
Don't play betas.
Or don't play them on day one.

Maybe you should have bought the standard beta for half the price, and waited. Most of the bugs will have probably been squashed by then.
I really want to play this game, but I don't really want to play it in this state, so I'll wait, maybe the temptation will be too great when the standard beta comes along, maybe I'll just wait for the whole game to ship.
As a software engineer in real life, I can tell you that the "B" in Beta stands for "Buggy as hell"...
The "A" in Alpha stands for "At least it compiled..."

Wow. Before complaining about how poor you think this TEST is, please understand the difference between a BETA TEST and EARLY ACCESS. They are not the same, not by a long shot. This is not a game yet.
You are testing portions of what is going to BE a game. If you find an issue, you put in a defect report if there isn't one already on the books. You don't sit and about how it isn't working. You knew that when you signed up for it.
You signed up for the beta to help in the development of a fantastic Space Simulator that you want to see succeed. If you see something wrong, let the dev's know. Otherwise, you get a leg up on building your skill which will not be susceptible to account wiping.

This is mainly a server stress test. Seems to be running great really. Yes there are wait times, but it's nothing like the first alpha multiplayer was.
Report issues through the ticket system when you find something wrong. The more logs they have, the faster things get fixed.
At release I saw some of the old problems crop up, but seems a lot better half a day later. It may be a few days until the next patch, so test, report and crash as much as possible.

I did not have such problems yesterday playing for about 6 hours. As well as at least one server is already added for sure.
