Release EDEngineer - an overlay to track your blueprint progress in realtime

I'm on v1.1.3.4 and everything seems fine but not the voice notification that used to work before. In the settings menu -> configure notifications all I get is a small window where I can chose None/Toast/Voice (which is checked) and Available Voices. Sometime ago the settings menu brought up a more complex window with all available materials and a per material check for notifications. Has this changed in the meantime or is my copy broken?

On a positive note I've also lost the windows warning each time I fire up EDEngineer. Hope there's nothing to worry about?

Btw, what does "Toast" mean as this never seemed to work for me?
The more complex window you're referring to is the thresholds window that helped configure limits to each material but it's not relevant anymore now that you can store hundreds of each materials (instead of a shared maximum).
The toast notifications used to work but a Windows Update broke my implementation but this is how it used to show :

Yeah thanks. Anyway, I've set it to voice notification and expected the old behavior that would inform me whenever the materials for a new blueprint are complete. This doesn't seem to work anymore. Is it just me or probably also generally broken by the latest Windows update?

I wanted the meta-alloy hull reinforcements because I thought they sounded cool (never mind about that) thurns out they need 25 focus crystals, not 15. Just a small update, I wouldn't have been able to track all the parts I needed without EDE anyway. :D Really nice that the app keeps all the info in one place instead of hunting around inara or eddb or the forums.

Greetings

Installed this program and it seemed to run ok but everything is blank as in no commodities /materials or data and it says "CMDR default" in the commanders section at the top.

I'm currently playing in beta because I have been away from the game for over a year or so, Trying to get myself up to speed before I go live again.

Any idea WTH hell is happening?

EDEngineer may not be configured to parse beta journal files (I'm not certain how these are handled)?

So you reckon me being in beta is the problem? I'll jump into the standard game see if something different happens.

Thanks for the reply.

(edit) Indeed it does not work in the beta! I loaded into my main account and sure enough it now says my CMDR name.

Thanks again.

Anybody else getting "something went wrong with parsing your logs" since 3.3 went lilve? Tried a clean reinstall. If it's happening to everyone I'll just wait for a new version.

Yes, seeing errors as well.
Based on the commit log on Github, it looks like a 3.3 update is imminent.

Thanks for the confirmation. I seem to have a complete mental block when it comes to Github. For some reason I don't understand it at all.

I hope so, mine isn't working anymore. Whenever I try to start EDEngineer an error window pops up that I can't copy and paste the text from. Would have to make a screen shot from it. Is it worth to bother?
The text starts with "Something went wrong in parsing your logs, open an issue on GitHub with this information" followed by some cryptic (for me as non-developer) lines describing the error.

Been monitoring the thread on Github and it looks like a fix is in the works. Meanwhile, if you keep spamming the OK button on that error message it eventually goes away and you can get in: seems to work fine after that. The error message pops up every time the number of limpets in your hold changes, and also a few times when you start the app.

Actually, worked! Thanks. Spamming was something about 20 -25 times (didn't count). ;)

edit:
Update came last night, works like a charm. You rock! [up]

I have a few Perma-Death commanders on one of my accounts. They are now, dead, never to be seen again. ED:Engineer still shows them and their materials. Is there a way for me to delete/hide them?

Anyone else know why the in game overlay won't work in game? Here is a github post i asked this question on 10 days ago but I dont think its actively being monitored.
https://github.com/msarilar/EDEngineer/issues/504

I installed EDEngineer and set it up according to the documentation. The overlay comes up in windows, however it does not come up in game.
I use Oculus Rift > Launched within SteamVR.
The game is setup to Full Screen Borderless.
I launched ED without VR and still not able to get engineer to show up in game.
I tried windowed mode and full screen borderless without any difference. I even tried removing the VR headset and running the game as a regular full screen borderless non vr mode without a difference.

At this point, i dont use the VR headset anymore (its my brothers, i was just borrowing it to play around). So now i'm back to regular desktop mode.
