Discussion EDRefCard v1.4+ - new hosting, new maintainers (the follow-on to "EDRefCard - makes a printable reference card of your controller bindings")

Hello, all! I've recently acquired a Thrustmaster Hotas X and was referred to edrefcard. I found a binding I am interested in, however the download link leads to a page with the bindings in text format, rather than a downloadable XML/BINDS file.

I suspect I have to copy/paste this into my bindings file, but in my appdata folder there are several (custom.3.0.binds, custom.4.0.binds, custom.4.1.binds, etc.)

How must I proceed? I feel I am ahem in a bind about this.

Captain V... You have choices.

1) paste the xml into custom.4.1.binds
2) create a new file and choose that from the controls drop down in elite

Did you try right-clicking the link, and choosing "Save As"?
Note: I can't use the site (my setup is too complicated), so I don't know if that's possible.

so i guess i'll have to go do the control binding myself for each key 😩
I think that would be better anyway after looking up your new HOSAS. Your new sticks feature way more buttons and hats. Better to use these to their full advantage than to imitate your old HOTAS.

also i dont see the Winwing joystick set recognized by game elite
No, the list of input devices that the game recognizes is very rarely updated, if at all. Your Winwings will probably never be featured. You could change that manually by editing some files, but that would be a topic for another thread.

, but they do recognize the input when tring to binding the command. ( it got set as custom)
Yeah, that's the usual way Windows and the game handle this stuff. It should work with all modern input devices.

only issue is that they dont differentiate in the description when you bind it stick 1 from stick 2 , so it get confuing when trying to remember which to stick is refering the command bind 😥
True. The binds file does differentiate between them, of course, you just don't see it in the game's UI. Again, you could change that manually (see above), but that would be too off topic here. Just fly around a little, and if this annoys you sufficiently enough to open a new thread for this, open a new thread.

On my setup the Virpil Constellation Alpha Prime righthanded was not properly regognised. I shall post the code "devicf" here the website says. My throttle, the MongoosT-50 CM3 was propery recognised. I have saved my bindings to a seperate file called Virpil.binds. Is there anyting else I can provide to you?

Hello Commanders, I have just read through all the threads and have not found anything on the Fr.Tec Raptor Throttle and Raptor Mach 2. I am aware that they are KOs of the VKB Gladiator and the flashfire cobra accelerator. That being said my father got the Fr.Tec versions as a gift (from his wife, my mom) to dabble in hotas and I was curious if anyone had binds I could download specifically for this or am I going to have to set it up for him myself. (Dad plays ED, I set everything up for him)
Thank you ahead of time, I see a lot of downwards talk on the KOs and it’s all fair points on the matter but I just want to set it up for him as he obvious love my mom and wants to use them.

Brammers :

Still having some issues with device recognition. I'm running the following setup:
Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 throttle (0x33440197)
Virpil Control Panel #2 (0x3344025B)
Virpil Constellation Alpha Prime Right (0x33444390)
Virpil Constellation Alpha Prime Left (0x3344038F)

The throttle and right stick are detected properly by EDRefCard. The control panel and the left stick are not. The code provided by EDRefCard is kdutdc. I went and looked at the code and it seems like the Alpha Prime Left should just work if the ID is added to the bindings data list. Control Panel #2 isn't listed at all, so that would be a new device to support. If I have the time, I'll try adding it myself and throwing out a PR for you, save you some work.

I'm currently using the Thrustmaster t.160000m fcs with the T.Flight Rudder Pedals plugged into the throttle (for yaw because I don't trust the stick twist to not break, not using the toe brakes) and an Elite Series 2 (wirelessly) for ground and multicrew (as well as UI in general) and have the 'unknown controller detected' error. It seems to be not recognizing the pedals or the Elite (which is showing in Windows (Win11, fully updated) as 'XBox Wireless Controller'

Good evening everyone,

I want to get back into Elite Dangerous after a long break and have treated myself to a Thrustmaster T.16000 FC Hotas, but unfortunately I can't get to grips with the button assignment.
A search on the net led me to the bindings of a certain ‘Laz’, which unfortunately didn't work properly.

In the meantime I have understood the configuration for the ship and get along quite well with the default settings from Frontier or Thrustmaster.

The only thing I don't understand is the control of the SRV. The controls and the guns work well. But I don't understand how to operate the menu interface and select the individual items.

I can navigate through the top level of the menus using the rocker switch on the front of the throttle. However, it is then no longer possible to operate the buttons in the areas. For example, I can't trigger the boarding function.

Please give me a tip.

Hello Everyone,

I am also a returning player after a long hiatus. I have a CH Products fighter stick and pro throttle. Is there a guide on how to program it in game or out of game. I'm a bit lost. The previous config I had doesn't work anymore. Anu sort of basic guide would be really appreciated.

Welcome! You both should probably ask in the Newcomer or the PC forum, as this here is meant as a support channel for the online tool EdRefCard.

I've recently upgraded my throttle to a VKB STECS Mini: https://flightsimcontrols.com/product/stecs-throttle-system-mini/
Using EDRefCard it reported that the throttle isn't recognised and sent me here with code "sowfvw". Hopefully support can be added in the future.

While I'm here, it'd be lovely to have a toggle to have the output in a dark mode. Since they are images Dark Reader browser extension can't change them. In the past I've simply screenshot the results and inverted them to have a dark reference, but it might be trivial to have the image generation for the output handle this.

Thank you for maintaining this great tool.

I just upgraded from my previous setup to a pair of VKB Gladiator NXT EVO with Omnithrottle/OTA (with SEM addon on the right side) as the left stick/throttle. Setup: VKB-Gladiator-NXT-Premium-Right (recognized), VKB-Gladiator-NXT-Premium-Left-OTA with SEM attached (not recognized), Elite Series 2 for ground (not recognized). reference code: wufvco

Download page on VKB's website has fillable PDF templates for all their gear (other than some of the sticks/grips): https://www.vkbcontrollers.com/pages/downloads

The difference between the SEM and SEM-V is a jumper on the mainboard and the orientation of the labels on the panel. (For THQ and THQ-V there's no jumper, the only difference is label orientation on the front). Both SEM and THQ can be attached to the Gladiator base as addon modules or upgraded to have their own USB connection.

FSM-GA can also be connected either as an add-on module or upgraded with its own USB connection as a separate device but can only be mounted in a vertical orientation.

Multiple instances of the same module on the same USB connection use different subaddresses (up to 4 SEM/THQ, up to 2 FSM-GA). This is also subject to DirectX's limitations of 8 axes and 128 buttons per USB device.

The WWII version of the THQ is a THQ addon that links two of the throttle levers and adds a few buttons.

ATEM and STEM are both addons for and connected via STECS.

I hope this is helpful in adding support for more of VKB's modules and modular design.

Starting today, we have migrated the EDRefCard to a new hosting location provided by @Epaphus (thank you for providing this!) and I'm now the maintainer of the domain and source code repo.

I wish to thank @VerticalBlank for the efforts in maintaing this code / site over the previous years - it's certainly made my Elite life much easier.

We welcome any requests for an old published binding to be reinstated from backup. Requests for new devices will be turned around as quickly as time allows (life can get in the way sometimes!).

There is a project in-flight to re-write this site so that it can be easier to maintain, run and hopefully allow a faster turnaround for new devices/fixes. A small visual re-work will happen at the same time.

For referemce, the old forum thread can be found here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...ence-card-of-your-controller-bindings.464400/

Can you reupload mine? For the X56. Should be CMDR-Christian-117's slightly edited binds or something like that, but it has my name, and there's two, please reupload the newest one I had, I just had to reinstall my os and don't have my bindings now T-T
