Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor didn't make the funnies via text on a forum about video games. It's already a tremendous undertaking to phrase sarcasm in such a way where it is both obvious and funny. What makes you think your brand of humor is special and easy to decipher? Delivery is very important to humor and is much easier to digest when you can hear a voice or see body language. You at least need to be known for making such jokes and that can be hard when there's hundreds of different conversations going on between thousands of people from an unknown number of countries/cultures where such things are jabs instead of jokes.

People nowadays are way too sensitive, no one can take a joke... like I said, I'll laugh for you. Life is way too short to take too seriously.

Anyhoo... before this gets off the rails too quickly... my statement was more along the lines of: Why is shooting first, then asking questions the only trend that this race has to offer? Apparently that Thargoid ship didn't see the battle fleet in the movie as a threat initially - is this the beginning of the end?

Just some food for thought, that's all.

if i were a betting man... i would say.... servers go down around 9am BST on 26th

and then back up some time late afternoon early evening. - so i have named a time i am gonna say....... 6pm.

If you are the sort to take a day off for the update, i would take the Weds off work (time zone depending of course).

I'm not saying they're innately hostile now (in our encounters they've never fired a shot) but I do believe it was aware of the human ships, as it sent its disable-pulse (a warning perhaps? "Back off!"?)

I don't think the Klaxians would have warned the ships, just disabled and opened fire.

I would like to think that some thought has been given on who to integrate them into the game that allows diffrent types and skill level of players.

Simple way would be to give them a few choices on how they react to human ships.

1 - if ship is in neutral or human system and is disabled by pulse then it is no threat and left alone.

2 - is ship is in neutral or human system and is not disabled by pulse then it is a threat.

3 - any human ship entering there systems are a threat.

Give up; it's an unfixable problem. I share it.

Umpteen generations of inbreeding here, multiple degrees, multilingual, trusted broker between people, and still condemned by mah durn voice. And *still* a Damn Yankee, south of Mason-Dixon. Goes both ways. :(

Anybody notice the 2 new CGs for scanners and weapons against the Thargs? 0:)

They are terminating the day after the release - so I think we might be stuck without any weaponry or equipment initially - could be a planned pre-emptive strike by the Thargs? ::tin foil hat off::

I'm ready for 2.4 - contributed 7200 tons to each of the community goals, parked my Asp in Maia. We'll see if the Thargoids are warlike (after Aegis firing on them), or if they are peaceful. I won't fire the first shot, at least.
