I see that sarcastic, self-deprecating humor is lost on some people... too bad people can't share a sense of humor like Mel Brooks, or Richard Pryor. Oh well, to each their own...

Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor didn't make the funnies via text on a forum about video games. It's already a tremendous undertaking to phrase sarcasm in such a way where it is both obvious and funny. What makes you think your brand of humor is special and easy to decipher? Delivery is very important to humor and is much easier to digest when you can hear a voice or see body language. You at least need to be known for making such jokes and that can be hard when there's hundreds of different conversations going on between thousands of people from an unknown number of countries/cultures where such things are jabs instead of jokes.
