[CMDR Panostrede]

Elite Dangerous Exploration Buddy is a new companion application for Odyssey (Live mode), that displays relevant information about the route, systems, bodies and biologicals and shows you at a glance what is interesting from an exploration point of view. It uses data from the game (local journal file) as well as information from the awesome Elite Dangerous Star Map (EDSM). Exploration Buddy remembers what was discovered and analysed, shows you an exploration history and calculates an estimated total value of the exploration data.

Will this work just as well with EDDiscovery vs. EDMC?

I did not test it with EDD, but I assume it will work. You need to activate "EDSM Integration" in the settings of EDD, though:

• EDSM Integration: If you want to send your travel history to EDSM, you need to enter your EDSM Commander name, EDSM API key EDSM Integration, and choose the sync directions you want to use.

There should be no difference to EDMC then.

Great Software, unfortunately it stopped working right after a Windows update that occured. It doesnt start anymore also not after un- and reinstalling

I saw it has some log4j component, where are the logfiles stored, i dont see any.

1. Start Elite and start a game mode
2. Wait until you are in your ship/on foot (this will create a new local journal file)
3. Start Exploration Buddy

Please give a note here if that worked or not.

no the process is visible a few seconds in the taskmanager and then gone, the GUI doesnt show up.

looks like thers something wrong with the user configuration file, maybe i delete it and reinstall the software

Deleting the user config files did the job, it seems to work again.

Great! If you still have the user config in your Recycle Bin it would be nice if you can send it via mail for debugging

Sorry i dont have it anymore, thers was hundreds of NULL characters starting in the middle of some section in the file until the end of the file,
my computer crashed (was unresponsive) while playing elite and having the exploration buddy on, after restart some windows update resumed, then the file was corrupted so prolly hard to regenerate.

Exploration Buddy will handle this (very rare) error with the next release. So when the user config file is corrupt it won’t crash anymore at startup. Thanks again for reporting!

Yes, unfortunately I do not own a code signing certificate to get rid of that screen at installation. I’d need to pay for it on a yearly basis and I develop EDEB just for fun in my spare time.
Customizable colors are not yet available, but I have it on the feature list

Thanks for reporting! This shouldn't be the case. Can you please send me your logfiles (e.g. via EDEB "Send feedback/Report Issue" menu)?
