Please take my money.
I run Linux at home, this is also my first post so I will be clear. I paid $1250 for Star Citizen. I paid $500 for George Oldziey's Wing Commander 3/4/Prophecy Score/Orchestral release. I have just backed Infinity: Battlescape on kickstarter. I am offering $250 for Elite Dangerous on Linux. Not on Windows, and Not on Mac. Yes I have a Mac pro and two Apple laptops at home, I even have a copy of Windows floating around. But my gaming PC runs Linux. I don't care about Windows or Mac.
I am a Linux gamer, and I only pay money for Linux games. If you don't like that then you can go without my money.
I am currently working on many Linux space game projects. I actively contribute to Vegastrike's Wing Commander Privateer mod. I am currently working on Porting Freespace 2's toolkits to Linux and adding support for other game engines. I do not need any particular game. There are many space game options on Linux and the numbers continue to increase. I would like to see Elite Dangerous among them.
If there is a problem with lack of developer knowledge regarding the platform, please reach out to me. I know several commercial Linux developers who do contract work who could port Elite Dangerous for you, I can get you in touch with them.
The market exists, even if we the Linux gamers sometimes have to spend more to make it happen. We are asking to be your customers. It's been a long time, please don't make us have to upgrade Elite Frontier 3's graphics to get something that's not as good as Elite Dangerous.
