Release Elite Dangerous HUD Mod (EDHM)

In Ody there's a few options to change the asteroid outline colour, but unfortunately I don't see any way to differentiate the white squares into different categories. In the shader it's just a white square and the categories would be controlled by the game code (only the shaders are modded). Sorry about that :/
Thanks for the reply, my question wasnt too clear but you answered it anyway :)
I was hoping to be able to seperate the white square colours of the mats and wakes and things, shame but no problem.

Thanks.

Hey, I'm sure you're aware, but jaffa cakes are taking over again after update 13. There's not much of it, from what I can tell .. same stuff has been taken over by jaffa cakes as after update 12 (pips, radar, hull health, holos, top of "2" menu).
hope you can release an update ASAP, i'm not fan of orange, makes me dizzy :/

btw isn't it possible to use old shaders from previous updates? I don't see why devs even need to update things that don't change / improve anything, so wouldn't it be possible to just make backup of the previous version files and keep using them?
Thanks.

HI Georj, really liking the changes from EDH to EDO hud amazing difference, have a question, well probs the first of many to come ;)
Is it possible to remove the stalks and base from items on the radar, it is easy enough to see an ship or planet without the stalk\base and would make the radar look really clean and less cluttered.

TIA
For anyone else interested removing the stalks and coasters.

[ShaderOverride-4e5823187ee42094]
hash = 4e5823187ee42094
; Radar, Object Coasters
handling = skip

[ShaderOverride-76d87a62bd48e128]
hash = 76d87a62bd48e128
; Radar, Object Lines
handling = skip

Edit - @GeorjCostanza
I took a look at how to, easier than expected.
Thanks again for the mod, it really is a game changer.

Hey mate, yeah sometimes they just change one line of code and then recompile the shader. But even when they do that I still have to incorporate the modded code and then test to see if there's any bugs, so there's always a process.

Update 13 changed a lot of shaders and I'll be working through them until the end of the week. Thankfully they didn't change the cabin lighting like Update 12 as that took a whole day to fix

I should be able to release the second fix tomorrow, and then there will be one more after that for anything I've missed

thanks for your time and efforts. I think you should only focus on the main stuff that is visible while flying, because that's what gets on people's nerves the most. I honestly don't understand how anyone can play this game with this default orange, it's worst color to choose for HUD / menus :/
ever since ED launch I never used the default orange, I used the official .xml method to change everything.

I also noticed my remove helmet effects mod no longer works either, I've had it since like update 1 (it improved fps), so they have definetely messed with some stuff, yet no performance updates tho.. I think they have given up on performance updates, I haven't seen anything for a long time, they expect everyone to just buy super expensive RTX card I guess :(

Did anyone explained how to add shaders with keybinds from old ducks config? there were few perks it still holds, if they are working at least.

There's a temporary fix for FDev Update 13 on the EDHM discord (mainly the front HUD, just to get you flying .. you may need to reinstall the UI to get it working due to the large number of shader changes), but the full fix should be ready sometime tomorrow so I recommend waiting until then, if you can :)

could you please share them here? I don't use *coughcoughsh!t*cord
I can understand if you want to perfect it, but for me it's enough to get rid of the main orange that gets in the face.

You know what really makes me sad about this situation? It's the fact that you're doing this for FREE in just couple of days .. and devs haven't been able to do this in 7 years...If my financial situation would be better, I'd offer you a donation for this mod :)

I have very little hope that devs ever do this, but one can dream and my dream goes like this:
Devs should make it possible to customize your HUD down to the last detail, just like the EDHM mod.
You can save ONE HUD at a time, if you want to save more than one HUD theme at a time, then you have to unlock a slot for about 5000 ARX
If you have more than 1 HUD slot, you can then assign them to different ships, so each ship could have different HUD.
Wouldn't this be amazing way to give players what they want, while also earning devs some money?

Yeah I'll definitely put the raw files on my Github. However, I don't put half-finished work on there, so I'll upload it once the fixes are done, hopefully later tonight!

It won't work with Odyssey, but that may change later this Fall or early Winter as I'll have H4 (or perhaps even Odyssey) and time to update everything for the new shaders. Though the conditional "skip" keybinds (turning off things like HUD clutter) should be as simple as finding the new shader hash and pasting it into the config file, something that anyone can do using 3DMigoto's "hunt" feature. It's the custom shaders (changing the coloration of the skybox, for example) that require the most work to rewrite, especially since Odyssey uses an entirely different lighting system.

I know, right?

That is the worst cluster of garbage app ever created...with the possible exception of Facebook.
I actually tried it years ago, got banned because there's no freedom of speech. even on fb you don't get banned for freedom of speech, they might remove the post if it's public tho. main thing that annoys me, is the childishness of the "app", it has all those kiddy icons everywhere and it feels like it's made for some 10yo and younger kids, it's irritating. also you can't host your own server :/ (host as in upload server files to your own hosting, so they have no control over it).

You could use dropbox or googledrive. You can make public files and folders there, if it's not too much trouble for you, then you could just throw unfinished files there and have a public folder like "EDHM pre-release" or "EDHM WIP".

I've thought about looking into this myself, but I have serious motivation issues. Is there any simple tutorials that show the basics on how to do those shader replaces? I have no idea where to even start, how would I even know which game files are holding the HUD shaders? I could do this with memory editor tho .. finding the colors would be tricky, but I've made "mods" for other games where you're able to change things like car color or visions. I did that in PlanetSide2, Aliens vs Predator and some others, where I made advanced vision "mod" so you was able to change many things, such as player outlines, background color, player color ..etc. I used thermal vision as base and modified it (colors, highlight distance, outlines, glow ..etc). I think I could do same in ED, might be more effective as if it's done in memory with AoB (array of bytes) search, then it shouldn't change after each update. In some games certain code is never touched, so the "mod" will work regardless of how many updates they release.
Does anyone know if it's against their game policy to use memory editors? I mean it's still a mod, just done in game's memory and not in game files.

got banned because there's no freedom of speech.

Discord is not owned by the US Government, therefore, you are not entitled to freedom of speech. Also, banned from what specifically? Discord Inc does not run each individual guild, so don't blame the company if you just got banned from one guild. Finally: this bridge has sailed. Feel free to use whatever you want instead, but Discord has taken over gaming, and it's literally pointless to complain about it.

But this isn't the place to argue about it anyway. Eagerly awaiting more EDHM fixes here.

Hi CMDRs,

Here's the third and final round of major fixes for FDev Update 13 ✨

This update turned out to be the most disruptive with 39 of the 50 modded shaders requiring updating or replacement. I'd say this would have something to do with the merging of Horizons as many of the affected shaders hadn't been updated by FDev in over a year

If you spot any orange please let me know and I'll take care of it

Please note: I've only just finished the update so give Blue Mystic some time to incorporate the new files into the UI

For those who prefer to use the raw files (without the UI), you can find the v13.21 zip on my GitHub (direct link to file)

I hope you enjoy the update!

PS. There weren't any changes to Startup-Profile.ini, Advanced.ini or Suithud.ini, so all your themes should work the same as before

Hi CMDRs,

The FSS Overlay has been fixed for FDev Update 13

This is an optional addon for your FSS. The FSS Overlay mod adds an informational overlay on top of the Filtered Spectral Analysis, and tells you what type of celestial bodies fall within a particular frequency band

There are two excellent options for the overlay, designed by @Parduz You can also adjust the brightness of the overlay.

Please let me know if you would like to design your own overlay and I'll help you add it into the mod

You can grab the overlay from the EDHM Discord (in the #3rd-party-mods channel), or directly from my GitHub (direct link to file)

Good (planet) hunting! o7

::EDHM ODYSSEY v13.21 BETA::

Some minor fixes in this update:

i. Multi-colour shield rings should now work at 1920x1080 game resolution (but maybe not below). Previously it was 1440p and above.

ii. The concourse terminal mod was turning off the station exterior lights

This update only changes two shaders:
35aac13bbb1540de-ps.txt - Contains the multi-colour shield
7639b312313f78b9-ps.txt - Concourse terminals

Blue Mystic will update the UI with these shaders soon, or you can download them from my GitHub (direct link to file)
