@Zac Cocken @sallymorganmoore
Still awaiting an official response from FDev on this:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...report-10-08-2021.587868/page-12#post-9461239
I think the Power Play community has been extremely patient, but we need a statement from FDev on what is going on; why is a game-breaking bug, allegedly fixed but isn't (so was that a lie to just get it off the list?), being completely ignore, in the meantime, t rival issue, such as not being able to donate stolen tritium, is getting higher priority treatment and has been fixed?
Dose FDev even care about Power Play? Is it dead? If so, let the community know so that we won't bother with it anymore.
Thanks and looking forward to some sort of response.
And here is another broken mission. Am I the only one who has almost every 3rd mission broken, or is it just bad luck? Here I can't turn in 9 occupied escape pods.
Source: https://youtu.be/lnt3XqKXrqU
For these nine escape pods I already had to re-log 3 times: On arrival at the mission destination there where no escape pods at all, just the SRV wreck. After relogging I always got only 4 pods. Makes 3 times in total.
Submitting is impossible, as you can see above. Relogging doesn't help at all here. I guess I have to abandon another mission again.
That's a bit too many fun killers at once at the moment...
@sallymorganmoore any word on this?@Zac Cocken I just realised another flaw with your request on getting people to report the free engineer unlock bug.
It seems that to reproduce it, after some testing on my part, you have to wipe save in order to reproduce the bug. I have been doing this because I am one of the very few players out there who does not mind doing this.
I mean, last I checked you cannot unlock the same engineer twice.
Do you think it is acceptable to expect people to wipe their progress to confirm a bug?
Almost everyone will just tell you that no, they won't lose their progress for this. And honestly that is perfectly reasonable.
This is far beyond our capacity. You need to let whoever needs to know that this bug needs some kind of special attention. I am starting to think that what you are asking players to do is just plain unacceptable. Really, you need to get the relevant people to make this their priority, not because of selfish reasons, but you cannot expect the community to give up their entire saves to confirm a bug.
That is why you need to start paying external play testers to confirm these things in home environments. Because us regular gamers? This is not a job, we play to have fun, and part of that fun, by the game's own design ethos, is progression. Asking players to reset that progression is wrong.
@sallymorganmoore Yet another data point for https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/41587
(this time, restore with eliminate scavenger bonus)
I need to add, https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/41587 is a really annoying bug. Not only does the mission reset when getting out of the SRV, sometimes it breaks so restoring power does NOT progress the mission, requiring a shutdown, a few board/disembark cycles to reset, then try again. Add to that having to deal with scavengers...
@sallymorganmoore Apologies if all this seems like pestering, but I have just confirmed that it very much is the act of boarding the SRV (I've been approaching in SRV lately for ship safety, so haven't tested that), not disembarking that resets the missions. Considering this gives me considerable bounties (ie, I get paid a lot) when there are bonus scavengers, I suspect this is not the sort of behavior wanted (assuming it's an attempt to prevent farming: well, it now enables bounty farming).
@sallymorganmoore any word on this?

You are basically asking players to sacrifice their saves for bug confirmation.
That is a big no.
Because you cannot reproduce an unlocked engineer when it is already unlocked.Hello! I'm not sure I understand what you mean about sacrificing your saves for bug confirmation? This is only asking for a copy of netlogs.
Thanks!
Because you cannot reproduce an unlocked engineer when it is already unlocked.
In order to reproduce this, you have to wipe save in order to have the engineers available to unlock again.
The problem is that because your company is unable to "confirm" this bug, because you need this information.ALL of these "player support" request for tracking issues are entirely optional you know. No obligation whatsoever so please don't feel pressured to! ESPECIALLY if it's about wiping save data. On the off chance that new players can set up the advanced netlog step in advance (it's a long shot!) then great, we can grab those logs as they go but yeah - it's entirely optional to help! Don't put yourselves in an unenjoyable situation to do so.
The problem is that because your company is unable to "confirm" this bug, because you need this information.
We cannot get you this information as you request without wiping save.
Honestly, I think this needs to be asked: Does FD realistically see this as possible to fix without players doing so much [unpaid] work for them? I do not understand what is stopping the staff there making a quick account and playing to produce the bug themselves. It very specifically affects new players because the forum vets? They already had their engineers unlocked. It won't affect them because they have been playing so long, they already have these unlocks done as intended.
Can I get some reassurance that anyone who gets free unlocks from this will never have to worry about their account facing any sanctions in the event of any fix? Really, if I can be assured that much I can rest easy. We're still trying though! It's just a case of 'if we can get more information from live players' then it might help speed things up.
Honestly, if it's causing levels of anger and assumption that we're "getting people to do our job for us" kind of thoughts from players, then those players should absolutely not put it upon themselves to help and just enjoy what they want from the game.
We really don't intend for this to be a "We'll put our feet up and make you do the work" - it's just a request to help source more info IF it's not an inconvenience. If it is, then definitely don't go out of your way to spoil the game for yourself by helping!
There is "limited gameplay" when you are flying to Hutton Orbital aside from MAYBE an interdiction when you slow down at the end - honestly don't even see why this is on any list at all much less one for bugs/issues.View attachment 257516
Why is this even on the tracker in the first place? It's not an 'Issue' or a 'Bug' it is a feature request and falls into the 'By Design' category that usually get other tickets like this closed by the team.
Yeah at first I just thought it was because you were stuck and had no option to cancel or redirect, which they are implementing in the next patch, but even that still falls into the category of "By Design" and makes this a feature request instead of a bug. It's just inconsistent with the way they normally moderate the issue tracker and let's other legitimate bugs/issues get kicked down the list. There is "limited gameplay" when you are flying to Hutton Orbital aside from MAYBE an interdiction when you slow down at the end - honestly don't even see why this is on any list at all much less one for bugs/issues.

If so I can go off and forget about it myself and just deal with another bug in the game. I do, honestly quite rightfully, get very wary of bugs that serve to function as exploits.
Agreed. That one should have been closed and not even given the time of day.View attachment 257516

Thank you. This bug has been going for months. At this point I do think frontier needs to show some responsibility here. New players won't have any idea that this is not intended and they are the ones who are getting hit by the bug. Them and people like me who wiped save since Odyssey launch.I'll absolutely ask for you. Bear with me
Its a bit like asking about Powerplay bugs. I've asked for clarification on a C+P rank bonus that may be bugged and earlier someone else asked about a CC bug. Both have gone unanswered, and will just be buried.Again, the bug tracker effectively builds a pyramid of bugs. The critical bugs at the top (with the highest chance of being fixed) and an increasing number of smaller bugs that have little to no chance of ever being fixed the further down you get to the bottom and therefore become more and more over the time.
Arguably the lack of redirect makes "Apex gets stuck an infinite loop" a critical rather than mildly annoying bug, for something where guaranteeing a fix for the root cause is impossible, I guess.Yeah at first I just thought it was because you were stuck and had no option to cancel or redirect, which they are implementing in the next patch, but even that still falls into the category of "By Design" and makes this a feature request instead of a bug.
