Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Update 7 Notes

Anyone else experiencing star texture is not appearing on system map? Not always but ~30% cases opening system map - black holes are shown instead of stars? (since update 7)
I had this (and submitted an issue report) post 7.01 - but managed to find a solution: delete GPUworktable.xml in the Odyssey folder and allow the game to rebuild the graphics.

Nuclear fusion will once again start in the System Map 😁
 
I think i speak for all the VR players here: @sallymorganmoore can you please ask the dev team to put a little love in EDO for us playing with that thing on our heads? Since the realease of Odyssey a lot of thing got broken in VR: holo-me, the shipyard screen, the animation when jumping from a system to another is no longer in 3d and now, with the latest patch, even the interdiction hud has been broken. Please, could them at least stop breaking things when patching? That is supposed to fix, not to break! Don't you think? Thank you for all your efforts.

Instead of adding to the tidal wave of pings that Sally has to weather, could you visit the thread linked in my signature and do your bit for VREDO bugs? Some of the issues you’ve mentioned are already Acknowledged by the Devs and can be voted for, but others still need independent confirmations.

My particular VR bugbear at the moment came in 7.01 - Spot Shadows have become linked to head movement. Issue report is here: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/42911 (there are two duplicate reports as well) and you can see a bit of the problem at the start of this video:

I was hoping to get a VR headset soon to play ED, now that I have a bit of spare cash (thank you Mr Taxman). Tried it once at a con a few years ago. Doesn't seem like I should be in too much of a hurry.
 
Another new issue I noticed since update 7 is changing planet rings brightness - when approaching resource sites ring brightness is changing significantly 2 or 3 times without changing ship direction. Unfortunately I have no video recorded yet to submit a bug. Will try to make a recording after resetting graphics settings.

Thank you, @Arioch . Will do. Even if i think that we, vr players, are in far too small number to get attention via the issue tracker.
 
The tracker is still important for the bug being recorded (and then being tracked internally).
I agree with you, as a generic behavior line to follow. But there are so many issues that are expired, even with many contributions. And the "funny" thing is that i've alreay used all my votes in the issue tracker, i just forgot about that. Probably because i've voted some weeks, maybe months ago.

I don't want to undermine the trust in the issue tracker, i've added my contirbutions where i could. I just hope this time counts.

Oh, I agree, it's not in a good state currently.
 
Awfull stutters and freezes at settlements allmost unplayeble (in update 6 no problems) in solo as well in open
THIS... same here. Even inputs (mouse/keyboard) aren't recognised when this happens. Absolutely unplayable, especially when in combat. You're pretty much a stuttering, but sitting duck. Aiming is next to impossible.

Not really, the NPCs are just as frozen as you are. I've been dealing with these freezes since release.
Well, you might be in trouble in open, but in solo you should be fine (I have been).

OK? Didn't know that, thx. Although that doesn't really make it better :D

Yeah, it only makes it not so horrendous (which technically is better, but still...)

Also, yeah, from what I've read, it seems the stalls have become more common (ie, many more people experiencing them).
