The spooky thing is, this tracking status didn't update until half past 11, but 7:15 was PRECISELY when I woke up this morning. Hours before my alarm.
OK, this is somewhat concerning..... I had ED installed on an external SSD and working fine when this external SSD was plugged into Series X. Transferred ED to Series X internal SSD and the game won't load. Title screen and quit, every time. Rebooted console, same. Transferred back to external SSD and game loads fine. So, appears ED crashes when installed on Series X internal SSD. Useful!
I`d suggest a reinstall to the internal SSD from scratch just to rule out any issue relating to game transfers between storage devices. Cheers for confirming HDR, BTW.

I failed to get a Xbox Series X pre-order during the first round and I thought I could maybe get one early this morning. They were already all sold out![]()
Sorted - Quit game, rebooted console, transferred game, rebooted console, ED loads from internal SSD.
I'm almost tempted to leave it on the external SSD and leave the internal for games which use the Xbox Velocity Architecture (Elite isn't one of them, not yet anyway). Even on my external SSD there's one heck of a loading boost.
Totally with you there dude, it's certainly a candidate to stay on the external SSD. Although, I did order the Seagate Card although it's not shipped yet. I also have the white Seagate 8TB spinning rust disk which is also a hub. Gonna test that HDD on the end of a 3m USB 3 extension to the X, and the external SSD plugged into the "hub" of the HDD. See if it all works
Some said there was a bug where performance and quality modes were somehow mixed up, be good to know what the best one to use is when on the X for quality/FPS.
Yeah, the heat effect on the engines which was in quality mode is gone, has been for months now. But the OP stated that performance mode performs better than quality mode. Maybe FDEV quietly removed the heat effect from 4k/Quality and didn't tell anyone?
As for the external SSD, I'm using a 2TB Samsung 870 QVO, it was a bit faster on the One X but is very fast on Series X, that Zen 2 CPU is a lot faster at decompressing data for legacy games.

Yep the hardware decompression block is a real nice feature. Wonder if installs get recompressed. My external SSD is a crucial MX500 1TB
That hardware block is nice, but legacy games won't use it unless they're updated for Xbox Velocity Architecture. I read somewhere that one patched 1st party game (Gears 5?) doesn't use it. All the performance benefits on that and legacy games like ED are purely from the native speed of the internal drive (and the much faster CPU on external drives).
Either way, she's a beast....will hook up my Series S later and see how ED runs on that little puppy.
