Idk why you blocked pod farming. It took 5 minutes a pod to scoop anyway with the abysmal state of the servers. It was the one actually reliable way to get merits because half the game is so laggy i dont get merits usually
There are certain geographic locations where you can generate near infinite number of pods. Obviously old time players figured out how to use these locations nearly immediately

But that would mean they are balancing around the extreme cases. I don't think we've seen any buffs so far, just nerfs. (Pls correct me if I'm wrong).

It seems a bit backwards.
 
Good to see this but just to note, this will nerf the singular way of countering undermining in Strongholds and others. There is little we can do now vs a throng of enemy ships in their private group instance collecting thousands of merits at the carriers.

It would be great if this suspension is balanced with something like CZ and bounty hunting. Right now, those two activities with an exponential amount of risk vs trade produce nothing significant.
 
So you've basically nerfed every activity possible except for outright combat.
SLF farming is 15 000 merits per hour and it has never been addressed by FDev as an exploit.
What mechanics has FDev implemented for defenders of strongholds to be able to defend at the same merit per hour rate as SLF hunting stronghold attacks ?
 
PP2 is fun to do and does need to reward the player to encourage them to take part.

However merit gaining does need a balance pass because some activities take ages for the casual player to earn merits so naturally they choose the activity that's earns the most in the time they have.

Additionally due to the amount of merits required for each rank to get anywhere you have to go for the high value tasks.

All I ask is that changes to the time/reward/activity doesn't drive the time limited players away from PP.

We have identified an issue where certain actions are being excessively used for Powerplay gains.

In order to investigate and resolve this issue we are temporarily suspending Powerplay gains via the following methods:
  • Rare Goods Trading
  • Settlement Data Delivery
  • Escape Pods
Once we have resolved this issue these options will be enabled again.

Thank you for your continued reports and feedback on Powerplay 2.0.
It would be nice if there is a in-game way to be informed that these actions are now suspended, instead of by chance seeing it on the forums.
(Perhaps as a inbox message to the cmdr's that are pledged?)

This still leaves merit farming at enemy stronghold carriers. The slfs at 72 merits a pop are easy prey. Needs a pass (refer to my last post on this thread hehe)
Wanna take the opportunity @fdev to please 🙏 buff bounty hunting!
Lose the slfs @ stronghold carriers replace with pacifier/long range railing python ll's, and make those stronghold carrier beams STING

Agreed. I missed the announcement by about a minute, so I sacrificed my morning workout for nothing. I was this close to earning another rank, in the vague hope that I'll be able to collect more Power Commodities. Not that they're worth all that much. :(
 
finally, one of the most unabalanced exploit ive see in that game in 10 years.
the others exploit are usally relative to our cmdrs: credit, reputation, thats all, i dont like but its ok.

but powerplay is a community driven gameplay and is really a SCAM that some of thoose bug exist. i will hope in a ban\shadowban for every bug abuser: (dataport bug)
and then we NEED an heavy nerf on rares.
there no sense you can use rares to WIN A CONFLICT ZONE.

how can they design that? delivering rares to win a war. are you using the commodities as missile?
