Elite Dangerous | Type-8 and new pre-built ships

Where you request the ARX purchased ship to be delivered is not the same as a dock that sells that ship.
i don't really understand what you're trying to say to me tbqh

i already explained, perhaps poorly, that i went to the "dock that sells Type-8 ship" and no armor was being sold there to me.

The intel @Ian Doncaster provided is accurate and he seems to know more about this particular situation.

But you said first :
Negative, cuz i already checked the station where i purchased ( claimed it really ) and NONE appeared in 'armor' outfitter.

And claiming a prebuilt ARX ship is not the same as buying it for credits as you can claim that one ship at any shipyard even on your fleet carrier without having a "full" shipyard there...
So the station doesn't have to stock the T8 to let you claim and deploy your ARX goodie there and so it also doesn't sell any armour for the Type 8...

uh, you do realize the Type-8 cannot be bought "for credits" yet and can ONLY be purchased with 'ARX' at the moment. ( until October i believe )

So yeah, i know what i said and i realize it can be confusing. Hence why i asked the question in the first place.

Flame me all you want with this typical forum semantics police patrol lol , but the real culprit here is "FDev" and their decision to limit armor purchasing for ARX pre-release ( early access ) ships.

Type-8 Standard (16,520 Arx)
Includes:
Type-8 Ship
Type-8 Shipyard Unlock
After buying T8s for ARXs, you can buy 10 more T8s for credits.

I have no vested interest in this issue but out of curiosity I checked the ARX store & the PythonII (which I got on early access) has a statement that This pack also includes general access to this vessel, which can then be found at appropriate in-game markets and can be purchased for in-game credits.

The Type-8 lacks this statement.

Of course the PythonII is now freely available anyway 🤷‍♂️
And what do you think the second line in the developers message means ?

Obviously, i was referring to the players who DIDN'T buy with ARX ( as in , those who prefer to wait until October ) .

sheesh i asked a question and Ian answered it nicely & correctly.

That's all that matters.

Well, as explained by other cmdrs, and by your own parenthesis which i colored and bolded in your quote, you didnt purchase the T-8 for credits, you claimed it.
And if you cannot buy the bulkheads in that particular shipyard, it means the shipyard doesn't stock the T-8.

And while the T-8 might be available in other Station's shipyards, you have no idea where unless you visit that station and that can be a quite frustrating endeavour.

The only places you are guaranteed to find all ships and all bulkheads are Jameson Memorial in Shinrarta Dezhra (orbital spaceport), and I Sola Prospect on planet Brestla A 1 (planetary spaceport)
The 3rd system mentioned by Ian requires CQC permit IIRC - which kinda rules out access for the vast majority of players.

as explained by other cmdrs,
Only 1 "cmdr" actually intended, and accomplished, the proper ( earnest ) explanation and it was Ian.
and by your own parenthesis
i know since i'm the one who typed it lol

And what's so ironic is that i explicitely typed it for the sole purpose of avoiding any misperceptions & misunderstandings. :ROFLMAO:
which i colored and bolded in your quote,
Wow. Just....wow.
you didnt purchase the T-8 for credits,
uh yeah i am aware lol x 2
you claimed it.
That's right, hence why i originally typed the words "claimed it really" in parenthesis.

smh

Wrong, since the Inara site typically gives us an "idea" and THEN we pilots go visit those recently reported stations.

But in this specific edge-case, as i already stated but you seemed to ignore for some odd reason, there was only 1 station listed and it was permit-locked.

Hence why i came here to these forums ( after asking ingame AND google'ing the question first ) . Lucky for me, and anyone else who simply asks innocent legit questions, these forums have refreshing people like Ian who can answer a question with knowledge but also without condescending.

Very rare breed indeed.

nah, the only thing "frustrating" (and funny) was watching what happened after Ian had already answered the question perfectly. ;)

Again , i already know this, since Ian already told me ( and everyone reading ) AND since i already mentioned the "permit locked" thing.

However, what i don't know is why you decided to post at me anyway, even after this--> https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...-and-new-pre-built-ships.627170/post-10424086

Ready to move on yet?

Hi All :)

Thank you very much.
We are closely following the testing of this ship in the game (for example : the cargo hatch interferes with the weapon). And when it is ready we will definitely buy it ... with credits.
With a bit of luck these bugs whatever will be rectified in todays updates starting at 9am I believe ? (Servers will be down starting at this time btw.)

Jack :)

Unless I missed a post, those updates were for the forums, not the games. So, we'll have to wait for those fixes.
And what an underwhelming update it was! No forum legs! 😡

The one funny thing is that during the shutdown period, the notification about the downtime addressed the reader as Commander, independently of what game one was looking for.

Either way, bugs fixed or not, T-8 with it's ability to haul and maneuver, has replaced my Python MK I workhorse for BGS influence mission stacking. Named my prebuilt BGS MVP.
