- Added ship discount to Founders World

So, for those of us that paid full release price, how much of an unfair advantage are we talking here, and should I bother to plan on playing long term if I'm not a "founder"?

Pretty sure they got enough already. No wipe for release, free ships, easier starts in other star systems with readily available rare goods. Now ship discounts.

I'm starting to think the "founders" are the only players in ED, and the rest of us are meant to be "content".

They paid more than the full release price and also if you play long term it will even out anyway. ED is a marathon not a sprint

Dear Michael,

can we AT LEAST have some signs of awareness of the infamous "stuck at black screen on launch" bug ??!!

Tickets are unreplied since more than a month now...

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=76724

Even the workaround doesn't work for many of us.

I just can't understand how that bug isn't on the top of your priority, given the number of players affected...

For backing the game from the start with more than 300$...we get a founders world as promised from the get go...but u wouldnt understand that.

You paid full release price. Some of us paid much, much more to see the game made. However, in answer to your question, I believe the discount is meant to be 10%, in one system only. I also agree with you that there should have been a wipe between Gamma and release.

I'm a founder, but still in a Cobra. And enjoying myself. Some people have more time on their hands. They have bigger and better ships. <Shrug!>
.
Swings and roundabouts. In the long run, if you're not part of the (misguided in my opinion) 'race for Elite', what is the issue?

From what I remember of the DDF discussion on the topic, players will gain access to the Founders' World at some point in their reputation rank progression.

Yes you should be. We earned it through months of testing and bug hunting plus heavy financial pledges in some cases. FYI, it's a 10% discount

So said:
how is this affecting your enjoyment?? if you don't like the game don't play it. 'Free ships' really?? where? all I got was 1. As did every one who brought the expansion. the 10 % is only in the founders world any way. the perks in this game are not like what you get in things like COD! become ELITE and get the pass simple as.

When you get to Elite rank - you'll get access to "Founders world" and all it's goodies too.

- Added telemetry for when a player dies to help identify cause of death when players explode near stations

You mean to tell me you guys had nothing to know what is going on with your game until today? So it's not just a solo game from the user point of view but also from the developers.

Update:
While I was unhappy that no content was added which is so needed, searching and killing anacondas (as a non trader) is very boring after a while.

I have to say that performance consistency seems to have increased definitely.
I noticed a lot less judder spikes on the DK2.
The issue of regular stutter and asset loading during frameshift is still there but it seems like it is strongly reduced.

So the experience became better.

Lame patch is lame......

Meanwhile, THIS is the date of my last ticket, which is still tagged as "new"

Fdev needs to get its priorities straight, or Braben should start firing people.

Founders, meaning if you started playing early, got to keep millions and millions of exploited cash from mining dupes and the formerly huge amount(comparatively) of rare goods trades. They also got a huge bump on insurance prices too boot...Founders world isnt in itself a huge advantage, but a 10% is still 10%, and it has a good stock of ship systems...

In any case, the biggest advantage was the huge amount of credits stockpiled and the ship insurance. Wealthy people in SC will get to start with capital ships though.. Doesnt really affect me one way or another yet as im in small group mode until Wings and more content are implemented.

Ahem, what about the problem that grouping and playing in the same instance is almost impossible? What's the point in playing in a private group when you don't see the other group members, anyway?

It isn't but will be extended to 1,000 ly in the 1.1 update:

Michael

Well...

I can confirm it is possible to plan your route exactly up to 150LY, even now.

Your neighbourhood has to be pretty sparse though. When I was travelling from California Nebula towards NGC 7822 I was planning my routes up to 150LY every time in my Imperial Clipper.

However, it is not possible to do it in populated regions of space because of how long it takes to generate the whole web of of possible routes in dense areas.

Hopefully, in that update there will be no "web" and we will see only plotted route up to 1,000LY instead.

Good News :)
