Yeah.... funny story about that. I sold mine as soon as I watched it completely not work time and again while in an AX CZ.

Activate it, it finishes, in comes the Interceptors, off goes the field from them and... shutdown.
Are you using it correctly? I was convinced it didn't work because I was just clicking it. You have to wait a couple of seconds after the announce of the shutdown field then hold down your neutraliser button until you see the field pass. Worked fine for me earlier today. The neutraliser is only active while you hold the button down.
 
A bit strange that FD invited everyone ("come all witness the event"), but it is only playable by AX equipped ships.
I Just had to zone out as soon as my ship came online, no chance to investigate, explore or fight for me since I have no AX stuff.

On the plus side, out-running 5 Thargoids interceptors was kind of fun.
Exactly the same my end, once my ship had restarted, I quickly headed over to the Musashi to repair my melted Guardian FSD and take a breather, before moving a bit further out.
 
Where are the optimizations in update 13? It said on the roadmap there were going to be optimizations, but there are no mentions of performance improvements from what I could find in the notes. Did something happen?

Since the update I have experienced more than I have for a long time in the game. I've had my Guardian thingies fail, escaped an attack by three Thargoid interceptors, been pulled from witch space during a jump back to HIP 22460, fought even more Thargoids, escaped several shutdowns, and now I jumped to a nearby system to find somewhere to repair again, since I'm not in an AX ship. Jumping into the system my eye caught this good old FC you can always trust :alien:

And if you go close to planet 10b you will see clearly the anomaly. Quite impressive
 
You cannot fight even with ax ship. all AX weapons and modules are instantly damaged and cannot fire.
The human designed AX weapons (i.e. AX multi-cannons and AX missile racks) don't melt down and still work. Definitely less effective, though. We're going to have to make some changes and improvements quickly.

  • An issue has been fixed whereby Commanders part of a multicrew session would sometimes become stuck in the Supercruise warp tunnel.
I can confirm that this is still happening.
It's something that has happened to me every day, and continued even after the update.
I was in HIP 22460 (I was a passenger in someone's ship) and supercruised to a planet but the Supercruise never ended for me.

Yeah, this totally. I'm sure some were just thrilled and tickled by 'the event' but it felt very strange indeed, and totally disconnected from my usual experience of the Elite universe.
Not really. Only you must have on board is "field neutralizer" you use it on CD basically.
I don't even know what that means and I've been playing for like two years-not saying i've been around forever-it's just strange to not be exactly brand new yet be invited, come one, come all, to be a part of 'the game's history' which really boiled down to very niche AX activities.

Those of us not kitted out for Thargoid combat / defence were certainly up a creek. So I logged on, went to one POI, immediately got attacked in an unarmed ship & barely escaped to a nearby, frantically chosen system where luckily, a fleet carrier with docking permissions was right by the star. Docked with seconds to spare thanks to that caustic damage, and promptly made my way back to the bubble wondering why I woke up at 6am to do any of this.

It was a momentarily interesting & odd experience but nowhere near the hype, and I still have zero interest in this tired, cliche "attack aliens because we're violent and keep screwing up" narrative. So it comes down again, to being just strange, very strange storytelling indeed.

At least FDev recommended in the evacuation message to only go back to HIP 22460 with an AX ship, which seems much more in line with the kind of player who would be interested in this event / storyline.

Um... 'AX equipped' guardian modules melt upon entering the system. I was trying to scan the ship logs in HIP 24460 and just had to tuck tail and run from an interceptor in my AX ship that yesterday could have easily tanked the fire.

There are no more AX equipped ships - following Salvation hit the reset button on Guardian tech. I soooo glad I did the grind long ago - imagine those that just did the grind. LOL!

It's the same for everyone - my 'AX equipped' ship that was slaying interceptors yesterday is as worthless as a paper airplane against them today. I dropped into the Glorious Prospect POI and barely made it out with 33% hull myself.

Ye, they do huge hull damage now. I used ship which can hold pirates grade 7 for 10 mins by hull. So I was scanning & ignoring goids around. Once they killed shield, hull went down to 1% while I was boosting to charge FSD like it is paper.

Also guardian hull reinforcements are NOT affected by system's hazards.
 
10.000 Cr bounty per Anaconda? Looks like bounties are now lower than ammo costs...
What sort of Anaconda was it? That's pretty normal for the assassin template (courier mission enemies, for example) though incredibly low for a pirate.
(Assassins have KWS, pirates have Manifest Scanner, if you happened to notice)
