Elite Dangerous Update 7 Progress

So some people would prefer an outage / downtime this week for Frontier to release Update 7 and an outage / downtime next week to release the CG bug instead of just waiting for one week and having a single outage / downtime to release both Update 7 and the CG bug... hmm... ok, strange.

There is another game I play where there is almost 1 or 2 patches a week. It gets really frustrating because often when I only have 1/2 hour to play that game I end up spending that 1/2 hour downloading a patch and then waiting for shaders to compile/install.

It's only a week, it's not really that long to wait.

Yes I would definitely prefer weekly patches over monthly or bi monthly fixes. Because what's 2h a week during a time most people In Europe that is work? Compared to 4 weeks of buggyness? Bugs actually make a product less attractive therefor it's a main priority to fix those asap.

I question the general update policy regarding fixes.

If I remember correctly the community took issue with weekly updates years ago.
 
I must say, it is dissapointing that it is still not possible to play CZ on foot with acceptable shooter-fps (Edit: with a 1.300,00 EUR 3080RTX Card). I really had hope for this week, now this delay. Mh :/
Wow thats really odd as i have a 1080ti and its perfectly playable for me. In fact i just did 10 to unlock that engineer and had a blast. Maybe my 4790k is compensating for the GPU.

Well that's nice, but we are where we are - fdev dont release weekly updates, so waiting an extra week for something they deem important is entirely sensible and consistent.

And it's only 1 week, it will make zero difference to anybody here.

It is a long game by Bottom Hat. He has the stuphzes market cornered, a monopoly if you will. This leaves a large base of capital to be deposed of, and since the goal is the aquisition of more stuphz for the stuphz market, Mr. Hat hires Agent Provocateurs to stir up hate and discontent on the forums, or at least the illusion there of. People love trends, so they get mad too, quit and hence more stuphzs for the stuphzs market. Sally helps a bit, gets her cut, it gets kicked up the chain to the head stuphz Don (better get Braben his cut or you'll end up in a trunk in Cambridge under a highway....) and the stuphzs acquisition trend continues. Rinse and repeat every couple of days/weeks to get more stuphzs.
 
So are the perfomance issues making the game unplayable in VR with Odyssey going to be addressed? I literally cannot do any ground stuff atm in VR.

Why would you waste time in Odyssey's pancake screen in VR? Genuine question.

It only exists to stop forcing people to take their headsets off when they go on foot (since VR has been dropped), but the extra eyestrain compared to a simple monitor doesn't seem to be worth it. May as well just play regular pancake if you like the current on-foot stuff. 🤷‍♀️

He's a villain, but you have to respect the grift.

Because of what you just described. I don't want to have to keep taking my headset on and off, as I like switching between both modes.
 
Please fix the mining problem its gone on long enough since patch 1, horizons.

Laser mining in hotspots where those hotspots do not have anything in rocks relating to the advertised Hotspot at all. Everything but. It spoils mining completely, there is no need to even go out and explore to find new mining ground at all because all you can do is do Deep Core which takes more time designed that way and done to create more visual effects and grind. At least give the mining players the choice to do either and be able to mine both ways.

I prefer simple mining with conventional lasers, it worked ok before. Please fix it and get it back to working as it used to before you completely tweeked the mining.

I can understand high value mats in rocks going to deep core rather than regular so higher value takes more time to mine, I get that. However even putting in say up to 20% max in rocks would suffice and a lot higher % for deep core but done throughout the entire galaxy, not just in a few mining spots where the rest of the galaxy simply doesnt generate anything.

Please get his fixed once and for all so all miners can pick and choose their own pristine sites including out of the bubble ones and get back to exploring and finding new ground with a pay off at the end of it being able to mine using regular lasers not this deep core crap.

When will you bring out the Panther Clipper XL as also requested highly and pushed since newsletter #08 and #13. You have brought out a multitude of ships (Mostly combat based) with very little for other forms of play. We need a larger decent cargo, mining and multi purpose ship so please bring that out, I think the players have waited extremely patiently for this and been let down again and again.
