Ok, will do. But I only marked errors in the later chapters, since I ignored those in the earlier ones - didn't think of writing them down at first. I should have a few more notes about earlier errors at home, I will check those when I get back.

Short disclaimer: my mother tongue isn't English, so I might have gotten some of these wrong. My apologies if that should be the case.
Also, since I read the Ebook, I can't give page numbers, and instead have to use the chapter, "Position" and percentage as they are displayed on my Kindle, in combination with some short description/quote of the respective text region.

  • Chapter 28, pos. 3801, 65%: "His preferred the ambush predator method of hunting..." => "He preferred the ambush predator method of hunting..."
  • Chapter 30, pos. 4015, 68%: "Yes, at least that what's I thought at first." => "Yes, at least that's what I thought at first."
  • Chapter 31, pos. 4170, 71%: "So which us gets two to play with?" => "So which of us gets two to play with?"
  • Chapter 31, pos. 4183, 71%: "Mervan followed her a moment later but kept part of his attention focused on the feeds from his cameras." => "Mervan followed him a moment later but kept part of his attention focused on the feeds from his cameras." (don't know about this one, but wasn't Lee the first to stand up? Then Mervan should be following "him", not "her", right?)
  • Chapter 37, pos. 4959, 85%: "Julia didn't know how they were going defeat a fleet that outgunned them by such a huge margin." => "Julia didn't know how they were going to defeat a fleet that outgunned them by such a huge margin."
  • Chapter 43, pos. 5686, 97%: "She didn't want to believe that Dee provided support for Laphrian attack but the more she discussed it with Mayborn, the more likely that appeared to be." => "She didn't want to believe that Dee provided support for the Laphrian attack but the more she discussed it with Mayborn, the more likely that appeared to be."
  • Chapter 44, pos. 5727, 98%: "I understand that but this isn't a good place to for me to be at the moment." => "I understand that but this isn't a good place for me to be at the moment."
  • Chapter 44, pos. 5815, 99%: "You stay where you." => "You stay where you are."

Hm, I only found notes on two more errors, must have lost the others, sorry.

  • Chapter 12, pos. 1605, 27%: "He'd put a lot of effort had gone into making sure that his ship's capability remained hidden from any aggressors." => "He'd put a lot of effort into making sure that his ship's capability remained hidden from any aggressors."
  • Chapter 27, pos. 3644, 62%: "In front of her, the four defence force pilots formed a not-so-subtle barrier between Piotr and the left and Hammer on the right." => "In front of her, the four defence force pilots formed a not-so-subtle barrier between Piotr on the left and Hammer on the right."

No problem - thanks!

I'm almost half way through the book, and I've been collecting typos too. I'm enjoying the story, but I am slightly disappointed that the official tie-in novel has so many howlers in it; as people might say round here, they really break immersion. ;)

Still, at least they're easier to fix than software bugs... so here you go.

1%: And not forgetting of course my good friends and family who's support is invaluable => And not forgetting of course my good friends and family whose support is invaluable
1%: We really don't want to p--- of the head of security => We really don't want to p--- off the head of security

48%: the Sidewinder wouldn't be able to put up of a fight either => the Sidewinder wouldn't be able to put up much of a fight either

These are on top of the ones that Arubeto posted; if I spot any more in the second half of the book, I'll stick them in another post. The % figures are from the Kindle version, if that helps.

Also am pretty sure Julia is referred to as Julie at one point near the end. Not sure if anyone mentioned it (.mobi version)

Couple of things that have probably been discussed over and over and over:

Firstly, on the first page there is mention that Freeholm is celebrating two 10 year anniversaries, but only goes on to mention one, unless I am an idiot.

Secondly about Artemis in the book:

It's not the same as the real Artemis, just want to know why? Is it because players came along and changed the factions around just to annoy Michael (I mean, Freeholm being Empire and Laphria being Artemis Resistence almost mocks the story)? Or has he just used pure artistic licence? Or is it based in the future/past? Or will it be manually changed at some point?

Also, why is Freeholm an outpost in the game? Where is "The Belt"? Appears on the system map but not in the Navigation panel.

Now that I've finished it, just have to say I loved it. It was hard to get into at first, like any book that's introducing brand new characters and explaining the setting, but once I got past that, I was hooked. Couldn't put it down. The story was extremely gripping and well conceived, the characters were all fascinating, the interplay between them really kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen. Also, a sci-fi story that's completely original and lacking in cliché is an outstanding achievement. But I'm now sold on Michael's writing, he's a top author and I'll look out for his works in the future.

Michael, very impressed. Please keep up the good work!

I wish I could write my own, there's literally an entire galaxy of stories to be told, but I can't really afford £4,500 right now ;)
