Finished it!
Great plot. Interesting characters, especially Dalk. I love that you've clearly played the game and the descriptions of flying the ships all fit.
Regarding the ending...
All of which sounds like I am having a go, but it's actually great that I can spend time thinking about all that. It's a morally interesting novel. Also, possible sequels abound!
I'll do an Amazon review soon.

Regarding the ending...
I think Luko is harsh on Kahina at the end. She's not responsible for the actions of her father, and if she had done nothing the planet would have ended up ruled by Vargo. And you certainly *can* own a planet: that's what happens when you homestead it by cultivating it and making it pleasant for humans.
I lost a bit of respect for Kahina when she handed over control to a minor character and going off gallivanting around the galaxy. Sure, she didn't want to rule the planet, but what about a sense of duty and making up for her family's past wrongs? Such an ending might have been more bittersweet: I want to go with you, Hassan, but I can't. Maybe we will meet again one day.
As for Hassan, he seemed unduly rewarded for his frankly bumbling from one situation to the next, and general cowardice and lack of moral fortitude. I can't forgive him for bashing Kahina on the head towards the end, even if he did ultimately rescue her.
