Establish your own Minor Faction and FAQ

I want to encourage a minor faction that I support to expand into a neighboring system. That system has a Coriolis port and can be useful to my supported faction but the neighboring system is *packed* with other NPC factions. Can someone guide me to a forum discussion about what can be done to evict one of the NPC factions so that my supported faction may choose that system during another expansion effort? I understand how I can drop a faction's influence in a system but what criteria needs to be met for them to drop out of a system altogether to make room?

This is the best thread about the BGS I believe.

As to your question about removing a Faction, I believe it won't happen until you have expanded into all possible systems within a 30Ly limit before removing factions will happen.

Ask in that thread though, and I'll happily be corrected in my understanding.

Hello every one ,am new to the FD forum but have been a commander since may .

Can any one clarify how to proceed in applying or registration a group or minor faction .

thank you .

I recently applied for a Group thing (still waiting, only was four or five days ago) and was wondering if I could submit a thing for the minor faction as well, or if I had to wait until the group was accepted before applying for a minor faction.

I thought when you created a Player Minor Faction, as the owner, you would be a given a code you could pass on to players that when used in conjunction with the Support Desk, would add a PMF Tag to your Commander in Game. Is that not the case? If it is, how do we receive these codes?

thanks

I do not believe there is currently a way of aligning with your minor faction in game, if I am wrong, please somebody let me know as we've been after this for a while

No, there isn't. I asked Michael about that and he said he'd love to see that in game, but it's not on their immediate road map. Good to know he's keen on this functionality though!

The 75th Ranger Regiment Gaming Community has submitted our request numerous times for our group and faction, dating back to our original request in November. If you're not accepting applications on Xbox why promote it? Our pilots are already negotiated terms with Corvos, Military Militia, and PhNx; who all claim to have their faction and home station. Even they are wondering what's taking so long. I just want the answer if you're accepting them on Xbox or exclusively on PC.

To confirm, our faction is 99% xbox and we were in the first additions.

It does take them time though, and don't forget there will be a LOT of work going on (we hope!) to bring Horizons over to Xbox. I'd say the wait you are experiencing is longer than average, and obviously that's not nice, but the devs and Frontier team DO care about the community very much, even the Xbox community which is just as awesome and recognised by Frontier.

We submitted ours in November. About seven times for Ryder's Rangers to become a group and faction for the 75th Ranger Gaming Community in Elite Dangerous. Recently, we've even been heeding player calls to end blockades at stations in Beta-1 and Okinura. Corvos and Military Militia know and have agreements with us. We've been highly active, and yet no recognition. We've made our group, a character for eventual power play, lore, balanced and scaled ranking benefits as well as unique weapon, home system location as well as planet picked for horizons and planetary landing on atmospheric worlds, and we're even working on designing a ship to submit. If we're missing something let us know, but we are actively growing and our members and allies are asking what's wrong. Commander Tugg even said it took time but this is a little long.

If there is any information we are missing or the devs have any questions, I am the acting commander for our elite dangerous groups. I'm reached at my Xbox tag I Love Furry or my email absol152@hotmail.com Our website is http://75th-ranger-regiment1.enjin.com/ and our leader is Reaper249. We would just like a response from our attempts, or requests on what we need to submit.

its possible that every time you resubmit your faction/group you go to the back of the list.... having patience would server you alot better than submitting your group/faction 15 times. i have seen many posts from this group and am guessing that is what is going on they will get to it when they get to it as this is not even a full feature yet ingame and something they have decided to allow us to have in its early stages while they work out a better system.

Its a lot closer to 5 or 6 submissions, but thank you. It is annoying however to learn that they posted the wrong email to apply to as well.

that would be frustrating... anything done manually like this is a slow process im guessing they have plans for a better automated system but has to be far down the priority list and has to have something in place to keep people from using stilly and rude names.... im just happy they have given us the option to have something player created in the background sim i do wish however that player factions did not start out as the main faction in the system but instead started with 0 infuence to give us something to strive for and add more ownership fighting the civil war or whatnot to gain control of the system/stations..

not sure if this question was already asked, but I can't find it if it was....

What kind of influence will the type of the faction have. Regarding a faction is democratic, criminal etc etc... what kind of influence will this have and how many types are there?

What number of players counts as a "group" for the purposes of player factions.

Me & my regular wingman?
Me, my wingman and the other couple of guys we wing up with on a semi regular basis?
Me, the wing and how many more others?

Is there a (semi) official guideline before player factions are considered reasonable to allocate.

Hi Zac,

Any chance of telling players which systems their faction is active in? It just seem strange that player groups dont know where they are active. Their doenst seem to be any indication of where a faction has expanded to and their no email to the player group from FD either saying 'your faction is in X, Y and Z systems'. Do you think FD could send player groups the locations of their factions? Maybe even in a similar way to the way power play data is made available?

Cheers,

Ben

There is no minimum as far as I'm aware, but Zac, Brett or Ed would need to confirm.
