Establish your own Minor Faction and FAQ

We are and 43 active player and waiting here. It's not easy to let them calm. I get nearly every day questions like "we're now established in the ED-Universe?" and I must say "not yet".

Maybe Frontier not really imagine what happen to the community when they acting like this. Maybe they think simple like "Ah - c'mon they just 100 people (example) wich want build a faction". But in fact behind every person who want establish a faction are between 3-80 (or more) player who wants to get more involved in the ED-Universe. The frustation potential is extremly high by these players. So there are not only this 100 grumpy people - there a maybe some thousands in the background. This is not good for a game like this. I really wish that the communitymanager here give us some more informations and (positive) updates.

I'm working in the IT-business too and working with big databases our daily business. It's not that hard to establish a programm/Website to update databases via csv or simple made inputmasks. It's not magic it just must be done :)

So I'm still looking forward and hope the best. :)

Best wishes commanders

PS.: Sorry for my lousy english but I'm not an english native speaker :)

Can you still submit a minor faction and have frontier released any information about the date of faction implementation, how does that work exactly?

Okay I read through the opening Post and some other pages, but I did not find an answer to my question. Which is, if minor factions are able to create their own modules, would it be possible to have our own 'special ships' that are offered upon reaching certain ranks? Even if said ships were already being offered by other powers such as the Empire or the Federation? If the answer is no then I'd have to ask why? During the cold war many countries were the benefactors of arms even though they might not have been aligned with those who initially created the weapons or vehicles/crafts.

And about the thing on modules, i could not help but notice that the word was plural, implying that a minor faction could create more than one module. Which makes sense I suppose if the Federation and Empire are considered to be 'one' faction.

If you're asking about the minor factions then yeah, that stuff has been added in this week. There's a few minor factions that I will be in contact with later today due to some issues that came up.

Pulled from the 2.0.8 maintenance patch post. My minor faction wasn't put in :( I've waited too long to wait even longer for them to email me about a problem. I'm going to email them first and ask what the problem is.

I believe more minor factions will be added with 2.1 . for what I understand 2.1 will go live in may and its a major update. 2.0.7 was some bug fixes and VR and 2.0.8 was maintenance.

We are waiting as well to be added

Hi all, I've emailed some groups that were flagged this past week that did not pass validation. Please reply to those ASAP.

I am now currently working on our next batch of minor factions for the month of March and April. Will attempt to get emails sent out to all applications to that here soon.

I really hope we get in in the next batch. There was already the first batch for April? You told me that we will in the next batch after this because we was not in your batch-deadline :). My Wing-buddies are like wild horses waiting to can enter the free galaxy :p :D

Ryder's Rangers applied back in November originally. With almost no response or communication back besides the "new batches posted".

Iridium Wing just submitted their minor faction application today. We became a registered faction a few days ago, after applying in Mid February. I'm really excited to see us become offcial!

Can anyone let me know if all new factions are automatically given a station/outpost, or is it possible that we may not have any property?
And do we know at what percentage influence we are expected to start at?

You're not getting any stations/outpost. You start from the scratch and very low level of influence and you have to build your way up.

I submitted both my group and faction request, group request was accepted very fast, but haven't still received any words over the faction, do you have any info on the usual wait time?

True Leavism... I was (baldy) surprised about the comment from @rootsrat about getting stations/outposts because if I remember correct all other wings getting a starting station/outpost too. It would be really bad if we only get a fraction name in the system and must try to get from zero to hero. This would be reallyunfair comparing to existing player factions and - depending on the system - for some factions nearly impossible for example when this faction only have about 10 pilots...

The previous system was totally unfair for players who played with the BGS to put a faction at the head of a system only to see it removed and replaced by a player faction (sometime with a different allegiance ! ) in one day.

The new rules that were posted on the general forum a few months ago are much better IMO.

We just need to adapt, in the case of our group we had to switch a systeme allegiance before requesting our faction inclusion (still waiting for it as everyone)

You may also need to scale your choice based on the size of your group and the population of your starting system (less pop is easier to influence).
