Basically people just want a way to admire their own ship. How else can you justify spending REAL MONEY on decals and paintjobs in the cashstore, and not being able to even see it on your own ship??

I hope that, as in FE2, we can see on a screen, our spaceship under every angle when we are docked in a shipyard
Forget that, I want to see my ship, in all its splendor, hitting atmo.
I want to recreate the opening to Serenity dammit!
(flying starship parts optional)
I'm afraid a "small screen on my dashboard" won't cut it.
If an external camera view is going to be implemented, there's only one way to do it - full screen 1920x1080
Yes, after doing all the necessary nerfing to appease the insecure PvP crowd, of course.
The poll at the top of this thread is very badly put together (sorry!) and can be interpreted in a whole number of ways...all of them with the possibility of being wrong since it's multiple choice.![]()
I think most "Yays" want an external view non combat only and no advantage for combat etc. If you are against external views you can select all 3 no options.
Aka Frontier First Encounters (F9) ..and non -advantage for combat/non-combat option, too look around your new ship. Not really, since people would then interpret "external view" differently.
Inadequate questions- flawed statisticsa lot of people probably just picked one option not realizing it was multiple choice
Ideally they would make it a first person view of you outside the ship, moving and looking around. Dunno how hard that would be, we already have bodies in the pilot's seat? And you wouldn't have to do much except move around and get in and out of the ship seamlessly. A small "preview" wouldn't be bad for the game launch either, then everybody will "get" immediately that more first person activities will follow later.
Do you mean us being able to walk around inside the "outfitting hangar" below?
That area is off limits for first person gameplay actually to avoid players heads being cut off by robotic arms working on the ship.Listen to this recording of David Brabens BAFTA talk made by Lave Radio at the 24:28 mark:
