Failure Developments at it again

The sad thing is that there's CMDRs out there who are whiteknighting the crap out of Fdev right now...
like sure guys don't worry!
They're gonna squash all the bugs, like all the others that plague this game since several years..

Honestly, this patch wiped near all my motivation to keep playing this game.
I am on the edge of wiping the game completly off my harddrive

Dibs on stuffs

Can you give an example of a game in the last decade that introduced a patch with a minor new feature irrelevant to most users in a non-working state, while breaking major completely unrelated features in the process?

And more to the point, since when does someone's shoddy workmanship excuse someone else's

People make mistakes yes, but people also need to learn from those mistakes. FDev just keeps making the same mistakes repeatedly.
Yes, true. FDev really doesn't seem to have a good track record. I'm actually still revelling in my recent Elite exploration rank, before the update that is. I just hope it's still there next time I log in, maybe in a few weeks just to be sure.

And it is laughable that people actually believe broken and sub-par work is acceptable. Most jobs (in MURICA) fire folks that turn out broke stuff. Participation trophies for Everyone!

If you dont think it is acceptable you are absolutely free to do anything else you want with your life. Which you wont, so it apparently is acceptable. Which is why this happens.

Common sense and education still can't stop people from occasionally f@#$ing things up, especially in their first few years in their chosen profession. Many years of experience really do help to reduce the number of f@#$ ups, but even then they do still happen, albeit very rarely! Again, please explain how us mere mortals can become perfect beings who never, ever f@#$ anything up @ work?
There's an old saying:

The Apprentice makes
mistakes.
The Journeyman makes fewer mistakes.
The Master
corrects their errors before they become mistakes.

I've long given up hope that Frontier has mastered game development. But releasing an update without doing an
open beta testing it first? That's an apprentice level mistake, especially given what happened during the April update.

This is an interesting read bearing in mind where we are these days:

First ever console game patch 2003

some think it's the beginning of the end, allowing publishers to release buggy and flawed games before their time, while others think it will allow good games to stay good longer. however you look at it, it's here....

I was a PC gamer, so I’m familiar with PC patches for older titles, KB sized patches of course... e.g. Tie Fighter, X-Wing, Descent, Privateer II The Darkening etc. I know PC patches have been around much, much longer than on consoles. It’s so different nowadays....

They've done betas before. I don't think its correct to suggest frontier releasing the build in such a woeful state of quality is just a mistake from ignorance.

It's like some of you CMDRs haven't seen this repetitively since the 1st 'major' update.
So much outrage for something that's par for the course.
Always some malcontents looking for an excuse to have a good whinge and bash Frontier. Having said that, I wonder if I'll be able to login when I get home tonite....
